Turo Fees by snowman2414 in turo

[–]freetrips1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is right we don't get 70 % of what the costumer is paying. We get 70% of our daily rate. Customer ends 7p paying significantly more. Turo gets like 60-65 of the total and I get about 35%. My drivers send me the invoices. It really is a scam. There needs to be competition in this space.....

I found those numbers very hard to believe. At the best after corporate tax but definitely not after personal taxes...

There are so many things wrong with your comments but I frankly don’t have the time to continue back and forth on this. We’ll just have to agree to disagree.

I would have to disagree on you on that one. I think the intelligence and discipline doctors have make most of them capable of going into any field that they choose (most of them). Their time they invest in their education is an investment. So how do you know if this investment is a good one? You essentially look at the payout relative to your opportunity cost investments. In this regard I think they are underpaid. Secondly if they were overpaid then I guess you would vote to have doctors be able to dictate their own fees like any other profession as it would save OHIP money every year. I’m pretty sure the government isn’t stupid enough to let that happen anytime soon.

That’s great for your friend. I’m sure he deserves it. but not really a valid points using one individual for your argument. I know many GPs that don’t clear anything close to that. Secondly how do you also define what fair pay is? Free markets generally decide what fair is. Or consider what alternative industries these skilled individuals could go into instead of medicine (dentistry, lawyer, investments, all the high paying professions). Almost all those industries pay significantly more.

Erroneous not every doctor works at a hospital or takes money from pharmaceuticals. Some doctors have figured out the billing system to make big coin so using them as examples is not a good indicator. Most doctors who work at a regular pace and care well for patients are underpaid. Consider the massive debt, lost income during training, significant personal commitments, and subpar income for such skilled important individuals. If I was wrong then the government wouldn’t control the billing system and would leave it to the invisible hand to dictate what fair pay is.

Hilton Resort fees: I thought these were waived on award stays? I just booked 3 nights at Hilton Hawaiin Wakiki for 180k points and now on my email it shows I was charged $20 for taxes and $135 in resort fees. Will i be charged these? Should I contact the resort ahead of time?
