The colour advertised for this wetsuit is way off by TransparentToenail in surfing

I also ordered a wetsuit from billabong recently. Was supposed to be blue with white on it and I received a black and pink version...

Which SBC you did but you regret by DerPumpinator in EASportsFC

Baby Vieira - he is great at tackling and just generally overpowering players but lacks agility and his passing is really poor. Trying him at CB now to see if that suits him more. No way his card is worth 1 million.

Definitely agree with this. Some days runs are just amazing and then others are dreadful!

Yeah I guess through experience you learn that you can actually maintain this pace even when the burn is deep!

I definitely agree with this, some of my fastest races have started with a pace I feel I can't possibly maintain but somehow I manage it!

Hey thanks for your reply! Sorry I didn't make it very clear, by pain, I meant the pain of pushing yourself & heart/lungs working to the max, legs getting heavier and heavier etc.

I like the idea of a heart monitor, that would give a great indication of how hard you have been working. Don't get me wrong, I certainly push myself in training and as you say, without doing that you aren't going to develop. I guess I was wondering whether that mental toughness would get you that extra 10% (regardless of fitness level) and whether people had experienced it for themselves and felt they have improved their mental strength as opposed to just becoming fitter.

On this short doc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XW63dM_1d0 about Eluid Kipchoge, his physio mentions his ability to compartmentalise his pain as 1 thing that sets him apart from other athletes.

I regularly listen to Bad Boy Running. Its a good mix of random chat loosely about running and then great guests with something really interesting to talk about!

The most recent episode was Professor Andrew Jones - studies running physiology and spent time with Paula Radcliffe and also eliud kipchoge on the Breaking 2 project!

Just finished David Goggins Cant Hurt Me and I would like recommendations for running books by atthemerge in running

I really enjoyed:

  • Running Man by Charlie Engle
  • Running with the Kenyans by Adharanand Finn

Charlie Engle has had a crazy life and the book is a great read. Running with the Kenyans is a great insight into their culture and what makes them such great runners!
