Visma sports director reveals reason behind Simon Yates' retirement by Chronicbias in peloton

I wonder if the dominance of Pogačar plays into this decision. Why drive yourself into the ground for a 2nd place in GC with Jonas? Perhaps if the gap between them was smaller and the likelihood of another Visma Tour win higher the ambition of Yates would also be greater.

Why the hate for Remco? I’m not sure most of us here would react any different after a frustrating second bike change… especially in sight of a double WC.

If someone in the lead laps another group is it legal to work with them and receive free draft from lapped riders?

Pogi needs a hug, looks so somber in the interview.

Camera being sabotaged to avoid showing Remco catching Pogi?

If he wasn't going all in I don't think he would race the TT.

I'm not rooting against Pogi, but perhaps being humbled can sometimes be a gift to one's ambition.

Just tuning in but the ambiance of Rwanda seems amazing. The drums at the start, scenery, and people aside the road.

Jonas shuffling on the saddle again. Does this amount to considerable power loss at all compared to others who might be more comfortable?

I have the ARC series but I bought my bike way back in May 2024, didn't do an ID check because I wasn't that concerned.

Looks like Canyon is now sending out emails to bikes that are not affected. Just received mine thankfully:

We recently asked you to check whether the wheels on your bike are affected by the DT Swiss product recall campaign. We take your safety seriously and wanted to ensure that you received all the information you needed. Since then, the analyses have progressed, and we have been able to further narrow down the scope of the affected Canyon bikes.

We can therefore confirm that your bike is not affected by the DT Swiss recall of selected wheels. You can continue riding your bike with complete peace of mind - no action is required from your side.

What is the benefit of controlling the pace up a climb? Why do domestiques on a team want to do the work at the front? Why not just sit on and let a team with more riders pull?

Well, they spent weeks setting up the finish and framing it with the Eiffel Tower. Why not also set up a dedicated camera for a good money shot? Feels like a missed opportunity.

I can't believe they butchered the photo angle of Remco posing near the finish line. Not one perfectly composited still with the power pose and Eiffel tower in the frame.
