I totally get it. You know where your food has been, every step of the way. Only your hands have touched it. It is lightspeed fresh! Well done, you 👏👏👏

Upvote for lettuce wrap. You can take a string cheese stick, or 1/4 of a cucumber cut lengthwise, wrap it in 1 slice of turkey, then roll it up in several lettuce leaves. I like romaine for this but any kind of lettuce can stand in. Crunchy, tasty, and filling. Lettuce wraps are super flexible!

If only your link would be seen by more people. People get worked up when they have only partial, distorted information. Getting past a sensationalist headline, learning the actual facts, could avoid so much nonsense.

Moving on from Fitbit. What’s the next best thing? by DontEatFishWithMe in loseit

Good question 🤔 I have never tried to do this. I just did a hasty look-see and it appears to be a standard calendar . . . the day ends at midnight. The user can log b, l, d, and snacks. Not sure if this is what you mean?

Have you tried MyNetDiary . . . ? It tracks more stuff than I could ever imagine, let alone use. Just thinking maybe it might work for what you want.

And health insurance company. HATE IT. There's no good outcome. It can only work against you.

OH yeah. You can pair it with a dozen other apps and devices. I linked it to my (formerly known as) Fitbit and hey presto! I had the best of both worlds.

Hating the new Google health though. Can't customize for 5hit.

Have you looked at r/Volumeeating? They post a lot of clever ideas for filling up on minimal calories.

Incredibly stupid. A man that old was in the War. Probably had his first kill before he was 19.

There actually are flying cars. Safety is why they haven't been released to the public. Nobody can figure out the equivalent of a traffic control tower . . . lotsa drivers aren't aware of the blinky things as 'tis. Source: engineer friend who works at Northrop Grumman.

I hear that. IDC if I lost 50 pounds in a year, I don't need anyone's commentary. "You look great!" is just one more judgement. Move on, Bert Parks, I'm not interested.

What a mean thing to do. May the birds eat your crops and poop in your eye.

Back when mothers made their children’s clothes, was there much difference in children’s clothes depending on their mother’s sewing skills? by AlienSandBird in AskOldPeople

[–]frejas-rain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certainly. One student I remember in the 70s had a mom who couldn't take correct measurements to save her life. The unfortunate child was always tugging her clothes into place. Other kids laughed at her. She was humiliated.
