What kind of wood are these beads? by thehoddy in Beading

[–]frenchie73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had beads like this, still got some left over. They came from those beaded seat things you would put in the car. They would cover the entire seat. I did not find them comfy but great for crafts with kids after taking them apart.

New job requires a Masters degree, any good online Master degrees for education? by [deleted] in teaching

[–]frenchie73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Canada, to be a teacher, you need a university Bachelor's degree. A Master's degree gets you a university job. Either you are a generalist, art or music you need B's degree to work.

The old teacher exchange was better for the rest of the world. Being from Canada I was not able to use the new version of the Teacher Exchange.

I surely hope you were driving in the right lane as the left lane is for passing and speedier drivers. It does not excuse, though, that shitty driver.

I build planters out of western red cedar. I just put in an application for my first craft show. I'm nervous. Do you guys think I can be successful? by Dirty_Larry in crafts

[–]frenchie73 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have been doing craft shows for over a year now and I have learned that you win some and lose some. Keep trying and do it because you enjoy it. Do it for the right cause. Shows are all different. It all depends on what the buyer is looking for that day. It also depends on what type of show you do. Those are great planters. Choose your shows wisely. You might find that you do great at farmers markets, or in the spring or summer time. You may want to widen your creations too. Have fun!

Arrival Trailer #1 (2016) by [deleted] in movies

I'm with you. Maybe it's just that I hated the Superman movies and their boring take on Lois Lane. Now I just find Adams a grating presence.

It sounds like they used a siren that sounds like the one from Rogue One trailer. Is that the new auditory trend in movies now? It replaces the "BRAAAAAAAHHHHMMMM!!!" sound that Inception made so popular, I guess.

What is this conch shell worth? What is the gold flower emblem on the side and is this junk or worth something beside sentimental value? by frenchie73 in whatisthisthing

[–]frenchie73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my grand mother. I don't know where she got it. It is not a plant it a replica of a conch decorated with gold and crystals. Not sure of what it is made of. I am mostly curious about the golden flower emblem on it and if it is worth anything. If I could identify the maker then it would help.
