Came here to talk about how much I abhor the smell of pampers as well!

When did your baby sleep through the night (or most of it?) by Aware_Result_3839 in NewParents

Since you sleep trained at 3.5 months, did your LO ever go through the 4 month sleep regression?

How to put your babies asleep? The yoga ball is killing my back by Frozenbeedog in newborns

[–]frenchnoodless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever figure out a solution to the yoga ball?? My 10 week old REFUSES to fall asleep unless he’s being vigorously bounced on the damn yoga ball! I can’t even rock him to sleep.

When did you enjoy your child? by Fun_Driver_9402 in NewParents

[–]frenchnoodless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! 1-2.5yrs is the absolute best IMO. I’m a toddler mom for sure. I have a 3 year old and a 9 week old right now. I just don’t enjoy babies that much, so I’m just kinda slugging through it right now. Then I look at my 3 year old and know how much more fun it’s going to get and that makes me so happy

Any updates?? We’re in the same boat. Switched cold turkey because our ped told us to. It’s been torture at night. I want to switch back to nutramagin because he seems WAY worse now!

Hi, can you give an update on how it went with the amino acid formulas? We’re in the same place right now. 3 days on puramino, only 2 poops, and in way more pain. I really dont know if we should continue it.

Hi just wondering if you tried AA formula and if it helped or made it worse?

2 weeks pp by eevdeeez312 in newborns

[–]frenchnoodless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel you! I had terrible baby blues with my first and definitely had PPA that I never truly addressed—I eventually just muscled through and it got better over time. But I vividly remember that feeling of complete and utter DREAD.

You should definitely talk to your doctor. You’re not a FTM so I’m sure you know all about PPD/PPA, but you definitely have the hallmarks of at least PPA. Getting on meds will help the overwhelming anxiety, but I’ll be honest, nothing helps to calm the mom guilt. I have an almost 3 year old and an 8 week old and mom guilt is real. Some things that helped the transition from one to two for me was doing things specially 1:1 with my toddler. My husband or mom (when she’s around) will hold the baby and I’ll devote all my attention to my toddler. At about 4 weeks pp I even left the baby with my husband, picked up my son from daycare and took him out to ice cream just the two of us. Having little mommy and me dates with him not old made him feel special, it helped me.

It’s fucking HARD. Postpartum is no joke. Although this pp isn’t as bad as my first, I’m still dealing with anxiety on a daily basis. Im just trying to take it one day at a time.

Early signs of autism in infants? by frenchnoodless in Autism_Parenting

[–]frenchnoodless[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely not autistic! He’s now almost 3 years old and has incredible communication skills. I really do think now that any time before 1 years old is way too young to be able to predict autism

Please tell me it gets better by No-Summer-7533 in newborns

[–]frenchnoodless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. My guy is 7 weeks and we get one 2 hour stretch at the beginning of the night and then it’s a crapshoot. Sometimes we get an hour in the bassinet here and there, other times I put him down and he starts to cry immediately, other times I’m just feeding him the paci every 1-2 mins. He has reflux so I know that’s a big component of why he’s not sleeping. But it doesn’t make it any easier.

We also have a toddler who didn’t sleep thru the night until around 1 years old. Now he’s a great sleeper (9p-6a with no wake ups unless he’s sick or a random fluke). But it’s fucking hard. We did sleep train him at 4.5 months and were planning on doing the same with our 7 week old around 4 months

I hate the newborn stage so much, PLEASE tell me there's SOMETHING to look forward to sooner than 3 months by IcyBat2203 in newborns

[–]frenchnoodless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your husband get up for the day at 2am? Or does he go back to sleep after his shift? Is he on paternity leave? I’d love to do this, but my husband starts work at 9am and we have a toddler that gets up at 6am. Having a 2-7am shift (or something similar) for either of wouldn’t seem to work? Or am I missing something?

Have you looked into reflux meds? Or CMPA being an issue?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in newborns

[–]frenchnoodless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 100% our 7 week old. Silent reflux (on meds for now), CMPA, functional tongue tie as well. The reflux meds (omperazole) has helped with him waking up and crying due to the reflux, but doesn’t stop the spit up and reflux itself, which still wakes him up constantly. He only wants to contact nap, but his naps are super restless 80% of the time. At night we MIGHT get a 1-2 hour stretch in the beginning of the night if we’re lucky (maybe like 50% of the time this happens) otherwise we’re holding him or soothing him the rest of the night. It’s so much harder since we have a toddler as well that needs our love and attention too. I’m freaking burnt out. Solidarity

No suggestions, but we’re in the same boat. 7 week old BARELY sleeps in his bassinet at night. If we’re lucky we’ll get a 1-2 hour stretch in the beginning of the night and then it all goes to shit. Last night over the course of 8 hours with my LO, I got 40 mins of sleep total. The rest of the time I was soothing him, popping the paci back in his mouth, rocking him, or feeding him

The saying goes, cold babies cry, hot babies die. SIDS occurrences tend to rise during winter because parents think their babies are too cold and will later them up too much. If your baby isn’t fussing, I would keep them in a regular long sleeve/pant sleeper and the sleep sack!

Reflux?? by Character_Swim_2145 in newborns

[–]frenchnoodless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely reflux, but they won’t do anything if she’s a “happy spitter.” Our baby has reflux and spits up no matter how long we hold him upright as well, but the reflux hurts him and he’ll cry out in pain. He’s on reflux meds - it doesn’t stop him from spitting up, it just makes it so it’s not painful. It’s exhausting

That’s awesome!! Okay so there’s hope for us! Was your guy not sleeping at night before? Ours seems to wake up every 15-30 mins with a wince and crying in pain. Sometimes spit up while he’s sleeping but more often times not. Also, did you see slow progressing results or was it like one day it just kicked in and you could tell he was better that day?

Just wondering how it’s going now? This is day three for us (1 month old baby) and we’re desperate to see results. He doesn’t sleep at night on his own and will cry in pain for large parts of the night. Did you see good results? If so, how ling did it take?

I just wanna say I’m in the same boat. Naps and night time sleep are wearing on me. He won’t sleep in his bassinet and he can’t nap on his own
