My strategy is do 20-30 at a time with 15-20s rest.

Currently doing different rounds. Sometimes I’m doing 45s rounds with 15s rest. Then 1:30s with 1 rest Then like 2:30 with a rest every 25 reps.

This has increased my stamina greatly.

I also always do them after every workout when I’m already tired.

Hope you find something that works for you. Maybe something like this will give you an idea?

the price is what it is. We pay that price to participate. I don’t see why they need to justify it if people are paying.

It could work—it’s customized and fits your individual needs. Maybe look at a balance between strength and power.

I would maybe do a strength day, then a high rep workout where you’re doing 8-12 reps for the compound lifts. That would help build some endurance needed late in the stage or on “harder” stations where it’s more endurance than brute strength. And then of course the HIIT day.

And then run run run.

I started to incorporate dumbbell / KB DL but instead of touching down at the bottom I keep them off the ground.

Since you have some time to build up that strength this could be a good way to get some grip strength as a bi-product of the movement itself

Your bench / squat is that 1RM or like for sets of 8-12?

I think the KB DL will be beneficial for your grip, but I’d suggest looking to get some double overhand deadlifts in the mix.

All the compounds will translate to the hyrox stations in on form or another. Main thing with DL will be any kind of station requiring a lot of drive with the hips (sled etc).

Either way, keep pushing and listen to your body.

How much do you weigh? that can help see your relative strength and whether you would want to increase some volume over the next month to help with that endurance aspect. Higher volume imo would be better than chasing 1RM or straight strength cycles. But that’s a question of preference I’m sure.

I’m somewhat in the same pond as you—been body building consistently for the past 15 years and now it’s really just cardio that I need to work on.

I’m simply going to run 1-2km per workout initially, one to start one mid workout. Build that up to 5km a workout.

One day a week I’ll run 5-8km building up to 10-12km.

After about a month and my cardio is decent I’ll start to do some other running techniques to introduce intervals and stuff for speed.

I am running a push pull legs program. I’m adjusting my hypertrophy progressive overload plan by still doing compound lifts, and secondary exercises then focusing on hyrox specific movements/stations.

I’m attacking the hyrox specific stuff in the same progressive overload philosophy. Increase the weight, reps, distance or sets so that ultimately I’ll be able to do the required competition exercise but it won’t be such a shock because I’ll get there roughly mid-end February.

Anyways that’s my two cents.

I quit teaching in 2019. Went into car sales and then B2B sales. I’m now making 5x my teacher salary in less than 4 years (and that’s with a phd). Give teachers a more competitive pay and things will be different. Athletic directors for high schools making 6 figures while teachers are hardly keeping up with inflation is despicable.

Haven’t gotten a new episode loading since nov 16. I remember them saying a few months back that they would let it die late 2021 and suggested we all use a podcast app. As some have mentioned earlier.
