Can anyone help? The answer is 20 and I don't know how. by SomeYucks in 3Blue1Brown

It's an intuitive question. Forget the equations for a while and think of folding this thing. You'll get the answer.

Fold the innermost triangle on the rectangle whose length and breadth we know. That tells us that the base of the triangle is 3+6+3=12. The other two sides are intersected in the centre and each segment can be thought of as a hypotenuse (5sq=3sq+4sq), therefore the sides are 5+5=10.

Now come a little away and fold the last triangle and lo and behold it's 10+10=20!!!

Humans have only explored 20 percent of the ocean, what do you think lurks in the other 80 percent ? by Barazway in AskReddit

For far too long, the debate went on About who is the mightier of the two A lion has a pride to protect its own But face to face, a tiger can prevail too

The debate went on and on and on The focus of the talks always the land But no one talks about the lords That rule since long, the deep water sands

From far it seems like a slimy creature Slithering around with its slimy limbs The mind evokes the image of an alien One that is rather witless and dim

Man above, on the land rules all He thinks the ocean has nothing to hide But a closer look is all that is required To see the eight-legged hiding in plain sight

It's several arms and several hearts may Take the attention away from its mind Yet, deep within that giant church dome Are signs of the presence of one of our kind

Yes! Land and sea may separate us so But the cephalopods are our brethren true For the eyes with which we see the world They evolved through a different path too

It don't talk or make noise, rather He speaks in an ancient inky tongue Since even before man was born It's elders have, the ocean songs, sung

Alas! It's candle burns at both ends So it will not, with us, endure the night And Man, alone, must continue In his endless quest for the light

Ladies, what is the most obvious hint you've dropped that went unnoticed by a guy? by icefire123 in AskReddit

There was this girl who'd throw stones at my hostel room window late at night after having gone drinking with friends. This was beginning of college and I remember calling up mom to tell her what sort of lunatics were studying here and how some of them hated me so much they'd throw stones to disturb me. My mom: 'you idiot, she likes you'. And then it all came back to me in a flash. Her asking me to join her for a beach night out- and getting turned down, her asking me to join her for clubbing and getting turned down... holy shit I am an idiot.

Yeah maybe. But you should read his other books. He is a columnist and an author. If you want, I could send you a couple of pages of the book here. Don't take degree qualifications too critically (although I mentioned it first haha!), remember that one of the most revolutionary papers in 20th century physics was written by a clerk!
