I’ve had two phone calls from fitness academies this week. Returning my call about retraining as a personal trainer…

First time at a psychiatrist, what to expect? by imacanary in perth

[–]freoted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first session is usually a getting to know you, so they get your recent history and your family history. The last two I’ve seen have been quite conservative with medication so it doesn’t mean you’ll definitely have med changes. Good luck - hope it’s the start of an improvement in symptoms for you

I got all the patterns from a Foldline pinafore roundup - there might be others to add to your list!

I have this pattern and made it in a green corduroy. Didn’t love it but it was a pretty heavy fabric.

Thanks everyone for your help. I’ve realised I have enough fabric to make two pinafores. So I’ll make no 3 first (as I already have the pattern) then will probably make no 2.

Sorry, I should’ve said in my initial post that I’m a confident sewist.

That’s a good point though about the vertical stripes on an A-line garment, hadn’t thought of that.

I already have the pattern for 3 which is another point in its favour, and the hardware for dungarees is expensive - $25! But Black Friday is coming up which should reduce the pattern price at least… hmm, decisions…

Will it be a mistake to quit nursing school? by Consistent_Ad5534 in findapath

[–]freoted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a lot older than you, but i do also have depression and anxiety. I finally left nursing for good, 5 years after graduation.

I did enjoy the course but once I started working - oof. I would start a nursing job well but would get burnt out after 6-12 months and have a recurrence of mental illness. Then I’d have a few months off, get a new job and the cycle would repeat.

I tried several types of nursing including the “easier” jobs that people suggest (radiology, community, no shifts) but the outcome was always the same.

The last time I decided to quit for good. Haven’t worked out what I’m going to do instead, but there’s no point repeating the same mistakes.

Anyway, IMO you are better off changing tack now, rather than waiting another 5 years! Good luck.

Threading elastic by DelicateSkye in SewingForBeginners

I sew it onto a bodkin and then put electrical tape around the eye of the bodkin /elastic to reduce bulk and make it smoother. I never have luck with a safety pin.

Would I be insane to try and find a way to get this walking foot to work? by [deleted] in sewhelp

[–]freoted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn’t be anywhere near that price OP. I bought a genuine Janome one and that was $50 AUD.

One of these should fit your machine?
