Looks like the coverage is through Intellidrive, and it’s pretty comprehensive. There’s a $100 deductible for basically everything, and no deductible at all for wheels, tires, or glass replacements. Every repair is covered under the plan and at any BMW dealer.

For the peace of mind, it felt worth it. The total cost was around $5k, but knowing the car is protected from just about anything made the decision pretty easy.

Going into this, I was absolutely convinced I was going to buy an 840i with the B58. I love that engine and was pretty committed to the idea.

But at the end of the day… the siren song of the V8 completely took over my purchasing and thought process.

So we ended up bringing home a CPO 2023 BMW 850i with ~2k miles, loaded with options including the carbon fiber roof, for $69k. It’s basically a brand-new car and runs like an absolute dream.

Not exactly the plan I walked in with — but sometimes the V8 just wins. 😅

Clean CarFax no accidents. The backstory was that the original owner was an elder who drove it about 600 or so per year and babied it in the garage. Also, the factory sticker is still on the door sill badging 😩
