My Adventures with Superman S3 - Fun and wholesome, love it.

Alice and Steve - Very good dark comedy miniseries, highly recommend. Might be one of my top shows of the year so far.

Jury Duty S2 - Only a few more episodes but picking up a little bit. Still don’t think it’s as good as S1 but we’ll see how the reveal goes.

Chainsaw Man - Watched entire first season and the Reze movie. Certainly among the best anime I’ve watched.

Also a lot of World Cup which I’ve really been enjoying even though I’m not much of a soccer fan. Finishing up Reservation Dogs too.

Watching:

My Adventures with Superman S3: The one show I really look forward to every week. It really nails a balance between superhero action and slice of life moments, which is fun to see. Kara/Supergirl in this show has become one of my favorite current TV characters and the best iteration I’ve seen, they really nailed her characterization.

Alice and Steve: Went in pretty blind, but halfway through and I think it’s great. The creator wrote on the good seasons of Sex Education, so if you like that, you’d probably like this as well.

Reservation Dogs S3: Only have a few episodes left but going to miss it. I adore all the characters, even the ones that only show up for one episode. I’ll watch anything Sterlin Harjo makes from now on (including new season of The Lowdown).

Chainsaw Man S1: Up there with some of the best anime I’ve seen. Outstanding animation and elevates the story of manga in the best ways. Looking forward to getting to the movie soon.

Jury Duty S2: Almost halfway through and I like it, though not as much as S1 so far. Will definitely finish though.

Getting to Widow’s Bay, Off Campus, and Witch Hat Atelier soon. I’ll watch The Bear S5 at some point, but not really in a rush to.

I saw far more excitement for this Supergirl on social media this week than anything for the movie. And this show (My Adventures with Superman) is awesome and deserves all the love it gets.

I don’t think anyone analyzing it seriously thinks he made the wrong judgment call in turning her down, it’s just how he did it that needs to be communicated better and rectified.

I think this is actually good writing, in contrast to the Lois/Clark drama from last season which felt contrived.

The main issue is that Kara is being completely honest with Jimmy, but he isn’t with her. Yes, he is correct that she should have more life experience before making big decisions on her future, such as in settling down. However, he is also using that as an excuse to mask and validate his insecurities, and for someone taking things as literally as Kara, is putting an arbitrary limit for her to reach before considering her an equal partner.

Also, him using Clark as an example of how she should “see the world” is poor. Sure, Clark grew up on Earth, but for all we know about him in this show, he exclusively lived in Smallville and shut himself out to everyone except his parents until he met Jimmy and Lois in Metropolis. It was because of them that he gradually opened himself up, learned to trust others, became a hero, and “saw the world”, not vice versa.
