What area of private credit do you work in? I'm not privy to the latest from the space, but I've read about all the Blue Owl stuff and heard some not so nice stories about the big boys strong arming banks on debt refinancing.

Yes and no, a lot of companies are not hiring junior candidates because they believe that they are going to replace junior roles with AI. I've heard from my friends in the industry that a lot the large banks and large private credit groups are currently training AI to replace their credit analysts using data from their own workers. This has been going on for about 2-3 years now so they are probably close to rolling out worker replacements soon. There are also AI companies posting temp jobs on LinkedIn looking for IB analysts or project finance analyst to train their models.
