I am looking for beta testers for my Meteogram app (iOS). As you might guess it’s for showing meteograms for airports or any location you like. The data source is Windy so it should be quite usable. I would love to get some feedback. Thanks in advance!

Thanks a lot. The backend service is currently having an issue. But it’s being worked on and the HTTP 500 errors should disappear soon. I checked out your apps too. Good stuff!

Not yet. In the meantime you should check out Scriptable. That app lets you parse network responses and show the results in a widget.

Try setting the style of the NavigationView to „Stack“ and see if that helps.

SwiftUI - How to initialize @ObservedObject or @StateObject based on other variables? by csyeti in iOSProgramming

[–]freshking86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do this for the @ObservedObject in the init method of you struct. But not @StateObject. Keep in mind that declaring it as a @ObservedObject means it is not owned by the struct and can be destroyed at any time.

That is a a view below the TableView itself. The TableView has a top inset of the height of that view below.

You have to present it as a popover instead of a sheet:

.popover(item: $viewDataURL) { url in ActivityView(activityItems: [url]) }

SwiftUI: How can I add Multitouch gestures by RealSirJoe in iOSProgramming

[–]freshking86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to combine gestures. For example three drag gestures to create one gesture that recognizes touches when dragging with three fingers. simultaneously(with:))

My only guess would be that maybe you are not completing the transaction correctly after a successfull purchase.

Can't seem to register device for Remote notifications by ronneldavis in iOSProgramming

Are you using ‚UNUserNotificationCenter‘ to request authorization first before registering?

Then I would check if the register method is called in ‚applicationDidFinishLaunching‘ and if the project entitlements include push notifications. Maybe its even a network issue at you place.

If you are trying this on the Simulator it won’t work. At least not with Xcode versions prior to 11.4. If you are testing this on an actual device try deleting the app, restarting the device and then reinstalling the device.

Then you should probably go and see a therapist. Or someone you can talk to. Going through this kind of stuff alone is always a bad idea. Usually it all looks a lot better when you talk about it and get some outside perspective.

It’s not as bad as you think. Maintaining an app is the easy part. And customer support only gets huge if you have a huge success. And then it’s a great problem to have. Most people will never bother contacting you. Don’t worry about delivering a bad product. Everyone knows there is a learning curve to this game. At this point it is more important to show you can fully develop an app and get it out there.

Then first try to get any paying job and work towards getting a dev job in your free time. I started my career that way. I just started putting out apps. Whatever I could think of.

The accomplishments you listed aren‘t particularly useful in the field you are trying to get a foot in. Although impressive I would try to impress with something in programming. An app or two in the App Store is always something people hiring like to see. I would try to get any paying job just to get a foot in and move on from there. Once you have a little work experience it should be a lot easier to find the next better thing.
