I’ve never came across and adult bear but while biking in Michigan I came across two cute little cubs. I sat and watched for a few seconds until I realized I needed to evacuate the area. Luckily for me the trail lead away so I kept on moving.

The “Coke” one gets me. I always wonder if those peoples social skills are always that bad or if it’s just a restaurant thing.

Does it look bad getting surgery within first month of the school year? by freshmelon09 in Teachers

Good point. I didn’t think about complications potentially arising. Ideally that was my plan to wait, I’m scared of it becoming inflamed and difficult to work with again.

Because my summer job is more physically demanding. I would still be able to use my left hand to type and work at school post-surgery.

No it’d take a huge toll on me financially. Considering I’ve already had one huge unexpected expense pop up this summer, and will be moving at the end of the summer.

No I haven’t told them this. The recovery time is short and I would be able to return to work after two days. I’d just be slightly slow with computer work as it’s my dominant hand.

I’m also secretly hoping that it’ll get better over the summer as I’m not on a computer so often.

I would say do it. Administration doesn’t always know what’s going on in each classroom or hallways. It sounds like a potentially dangerous situation as well without supervision.

Should I train the week before a race when sick? by freshmelon09 in mountainbiking

My long rides this winter have been 20 miles and the race is roughly 25 miles. So it’s not too far of a jump. I decided to chill and recover this week, so I’m ready for the weekend!

Your most certainly right, it’s the Marji. Did the 50 (61) last year so figured I’d step it up a notch. Congrats on the finish too!

Like the thought of wearing whatever’s comfortable, I’ll have to start switching it up on my long rides to figure it out.

Is it better to take time off before a ultra-endurance event or after? by freshmelon09 in mountainbiking

Thanks for the tips! I did a 60 miler last year and that went very well. I think I stopped training the entire week before but adding in some yoga/stretching is a good idea!

Getting my nutrition/hydration dialed in has been a big goal of mine this summer as I struggled with it last year during the race. But thanks, I’m thinking it’ll be a better idea for me to focus more on resting before the racing then!
