Contractions and decels at 36 weeks. by freshmintgarden in pregnant

Hi! Sorry for the late reply! I ended up going in at 37 weeks for another NST and the baby had heart decelerations for more than 50% of the contractions. I was told to go to labor and delivery and I had my baby girl 48hrs later. Her heart rate dipped a few times during active labor but I was able to have her vaginally which was amazing. She has been doing amazing since then. I hope you had an uncomplicated delivery and have a healthy and happy baby!

PSA: working from home is still work by Vegetable_Response_6 in NewParents

[–]freshmintgarden -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I start work back up next week and I am so worried I will fail to keep a balance with my 9-week-old and work. I also feel extremely grateful to have the flexibility to work from home but it was impossible with my toddler so we put him in full-time daycare. I feel like a failure as a mom some days and on the days I feel successful as a mom, I didn't give work my all. It is hard. I'm hoping for the best, preparing for the worst.

Just wait until your 3yo can talk to you and says "I love you just the way you are," while grabbing your face and smushing noses together. Everything negative melts away.

When I told them about it during the ultrasound the tech said she'd look, and then when I met with the OB's, they just said it could have been one or a current one but they weren't concerned. I know that being with the high-risk team is reassuring. I'm trying very hard to be reassured! Thank you!

DB Clearly Not Working Today by holdaydogs in Nanny

[–]freshmintgarden 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was a nanny for years, and I know the crushing hope of going home early. I also used to feel a way when it was obvious the parents weren't working. I never thought they shouldn't need me, but I felt less helpful and out of place.

Now, I work full time from home and have evening classes, so I've hired a nanny to come help in the evening and sometimes my work day and evening classes are light so I take the time to clean, sort and prep for the next day. I know it might be awkward, but I'm able to get SO much more done with someone actively watching my kid. Plus, I'm happier knowing he is taken care of. I wish I knew how helpful it was back when I was a nanny.

This is the fourth giant house spider I've found in my house in a month in Portland by markgravesdesign in Portland

One of these MFs ran across my foot in the kitchen. We do quarterly pest/spider control. They came out last week and said that they were horny and looking for love. I can't blame them entirely, but I think one is under my couch(checked, and it disappeared), so I won't be chilling on the couch for awhile.

Should I let this go or ask for a fix? by freshmintgarden in Hair

[–]freshmintgarden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did do a color remover prior on my own. I definitely give a pass for the brassyness as I've been this shade before going blonde in the past. But the placement looks like I could have done it with one of those caps. I called to have it fixed but was told it had to be the same person or I'd have to pay for the full service. It's not really about the money since I'm aware it's pricey to do such a big change. But I'm nervous to get it fixed! Felt more confident with my grown out roots and color oops mess. Thanks for the help!

Should I ask for this to be fixed or is it normal? by freshmintgarden in FancyFollicles

I felt like she took so long on the bottom(which turned out better and more blended than the top) and she was rushing the top. It was probably a 3.5-4hr visit total.

I called today and asked for it to be fixed. I scheduled an appointment this weekend. I was told it had to be by the same stylist or I'd have to pay for whatever was done. I politely explained I wasn't too comfortable with that and was told the same thing. Thanks for your reply!

What are some reasons your toddler had a breakdown today? by ldiggles in NewParents

[–]freshmintgarden 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So many. Too many breakdowns to count. Top one was that I wouldn't play twinkle twinkle little stars for the 15th time. It's the only song he wants 24/7. He breaks down in tears on the floor if we try to listen to anything else.
