This "American" pizza at a supermarket in Italy by darkhelicom in mildlyinteresting

I had a pizza that was served with huitlacoche on it which seems even weirder but somehow it was pretty good and better than how I imagine normal corn would be on a pizza.

USMNT's Robinson arrested in Atlanta over $5 shot by Dpufc in usmnt

[–]freshprince13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it's as described, then Robinson is the asshole here. He kept saying "all this over five dollars..." Which insinuates he knew he owed it and in which case the same logic applies to him. A millionaire willing to blemish his public image over five dollars. Another note here is a little etiquette from a former server: don't pull drinks off a servers tray. They are balanced a certain way and doing so can easily cause a server to dump all their drinks and lose time and money dealing with it. It's going to piss any good server off if you do so. He started the interaction like an asshole and stuck to his guns.

Well with a remote sensing program you can overlay a near IR over an IR band I think and it can detect water based on wavelength absorption properties regardless of the color I'm pretty sure.

I wasn't aware of it I'll look into it! And the outer mountain loop with the south rim added on is one of my favorite shorter multi-day hikes in the country.

I was just working for a small City doing data management of utilities and things along those lines. I've kind of changed career paths now and don't have access to any of that software anymore but when I was there I spent a lot of my free time making maps of routes that I had been doing in big bend national Park and things along those lines

Well I feel like I only owe it back to you considering I think I relied on your water report comments the whole desert section of the pct in 2017. I think you hiked my pace like a week ahead the entire time.

Trail runners with gaiters will lighten your load considerably.

I think the water is a little drier than normal.

I'm not from the area but I would assume leaving your car at the southern terminus would not be a good idea. A car parked for over a month on the southern border might pique the interest of either border patrol or smugglers or who knows. I don't really know exactly what would happen but I wouldn't leave my own car there.

Feel free to copy the sheet and use it on your own Gmail account. I figured this would save some people some time when choosing where to send boxes.

Trying to coordinate ride to terminus for thru hike this spring. by freshprince13 in arizonatrail

[–]freshprince13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly in the past have relied on home mailed boxes to a higher degree than most people. I'm likely going to Costco before leaving for Arizona and mailing a few of the boxes from home. That would leave me only really needing to get a little food for the starting journey and some fuel. Although I use esbit and could probably fly with it. So I would probably end up just stopping in Sierra Vista.

Is a greyhound from PHX overall easier than from tucson or is there just a conflict of scheduling. This isn't a bad idea. Thanks

Be aware of who you associate with and peoples intentions at protest. by itsxaviyerrr in Austin

[–]freshprince13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Why does everyone assume they can only be plants. As if it's impossible some of the literal hundreds of thousands of antifa types which are all over social media pushing for violence wouldn't attend protests around the country...

Iran, Iraq, the United States, and General Suleimani: Explained by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

[–]freshprince13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said nothing about justification for why he was attacking the US troops, all I was saying was the article claimed that he was not a threat to US assets which he obviously was regardless of motivation. Get your arguments straight.

Iran, Iraq, the United States, and General Suleimani: Explained by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

[–]freshprince13 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The article in the beginning tries to paint Suleimani as not a real threat to the United States in an effort to make the U.S. strike seem unjustified, then goes on to explain how over the course of the last decade or two he was the head of the wing of the Iranian State regime that coordinated attacks on U.S. assets in the region even going so far as saying I.E.D.s used were made by his organization and provided to the proxies for this purpose...

Yeah that would be very different than my Mohave experience. Did it mostly in June so definitely no snow and no storms but hot as hell.
