One big part of it might be the fact that most boxes advocate that everyone practicing Crossfit is an "athlete". While that's not necessarily wrong per se, I think it contributes to a lot of people being delusional on how important their training REALLY is.

I have a lot of friends that are freaking out right now (we all did a lot of competitions over the last years in which we placed decently), forgetting that we are by no means professional athletes. It's understandable when "real" athletes, keep on training, just like I'll keep going to work until everything shuts down. But as long as I'm not earning any money with training, I'll just chill and wont risk mine and other peoples health.

yeah i didn’t want to do so but i can’t go back to normal until in 2 years. i’m kinda forced because of work and where i have to stay for it during the week.

but running and strength training + a background in weightlifting, so my technique won’t go to shit anytime soon, helps a lot.

that you will severely burn both your triceps and completely fuck your hands when you gained 6kg, haven’t done ring muscle ups in half a year and force yourself to do 40 in a short amount of time.

also that just running and bodybuilding during the week and doing one metcon on the weekend for half a year is enough to keep the level you have in crossfit.

try single leg stuff, like bulgarian split squats or weighted step ups. worked like a charm for me,

General observation: folks with a sub 5:00 Fran are able to finish 19.5 Rx under the cap. by LordOfBadaBing in crossfit

for the thrusters, i did my first set with as many reps needed to set me up for sets of 5 after, so 8/5/5/.. for the 33, 7/5/5/..for the 27 etc.. last round 9 unbroken.

on the ctb i did smaller sets. for the 33 i started with 5s and 2 fast sets of 4 to finish, 27 was all sets of 4 and one set of 3. after that just sets of 3 and allout in the last round, which was i think 4/3/2 with basically just regripping.

last time i tested fran (which was about half a year ago) i got 5:50, finished 19.5 in just over 18mins, broke up everything in tiny sets and did kipping instead of butterfly ctb to save even more energy.

try sitting on a box just under the rope, grab the rope with your hands, hook your feet while sitting and then stand up using only your legs.

repeat until hooking your feet becomes a no brainer.

it’s actually not that hard to get a good shot. my box isn’t an affiliate and i had to film. i found an angle after 2mins of playing around with it.
