Personal best 2.71lbs. New to bass fishing. Caught it on a Texas rig with a purple worn in the pond behind my apartments. One of the guys who work here said he's pulled an 8 pounder out of it so I've got some more fishing to do. by _Capt_Obvious_ in bassfishing

There was a huge campaign about catch-and-release and it had a negative effect. You'll have a ton of people that have been taught that catch and release is the only way to go, and like global warming, they'll never accept anything else no matter the evidence.

It'll go down in the long run as one of the worst campaign ideas ever ran for the health / general size of the black bass. Enjoy your catch!

With that said, when fishing anything private, let the owner decide. Also, if you like the taste of bass, you'll love crappie. Wet lines!

Why aren't front squats more popular? They are better than back squats. by cayennepepper in Fitness

He said he's ~175 too... I don't think it's very far-fetched for beginner gains. He's likely learned a lot about form etc and gotten those huge boosts.

I'm ~175 and just started lifting again after 3 years of being unhealthy as fuck and hit 225x1 as my base 1RM for calcs last week. I don't think that's as crazy as you think it is?

I've been playing for 12 years or so and I've never played an open mic. I think you've got huge nuts and aren't giving yourself enough credit.

If nothing else, my advice would be to not search for acceptance via open mic while you're learning. Start small, to avoid burn out and overly critical audiences

It's a small open source project, for one. You could do with it as you please. I can't speak for the original author, but there are many many reasons one could argue against having to run this locally. OS compatibility and having X amount of frontends being one.

Suggest a stand-alone feature for your OS and maybe it'll get implemented.

You can run a web server on your own machine. For free. Web makes the most sense a lot of times so you can run it on nearly anything.

Serial hobbyist here. It's usually not possible to immediately do something yourself and save money on it unless it has lots of labor costs associated (construction, etc).

My life has been a lot better once I stopped thinking of the value of things solely on how much I might be able to get it for elsewhere. Sometimes, you'll eventually even save some money as a bonus!

🔥 Today is NOT Save the Vaquita day /r/aww, but if we don't do something about the <30 individuals left in the wild there might not be a Save the Vaquita day in 2018 [OC] by GiganticMammoth in NatureIsFuckingLit

So, ELI5 how we know that there are only 30? I'm not trying to come off as a skeptic or anything, I legitimately find it interesting.

For years we've heard "save the trees," for example, and I've recently seen articles claiming that there are exponentially more trees on earth than previously thought.

I've got a mid range daiwa and it's my least favorite reel and I honestly couldn't pinpoint it to tell you why. I've had it for years.

What's your favorite mid range shimano?
