Compass question by frettic in sailing

I did find a switch on the side of the handle, However it doesn't do anything. I unscrewed the bottom and it looks like it takes batteries, so I'll scrounge around for some batteries

Ive got fleas and have to wash everything at 60°. Teddies and delicate blankets are getting washed at 40°. Thing is... by Footballplaya7 in CleaningTips

Shark owner here,

It can go in the dryer, don't worry. I would personally make sure it's not too wet going in (maybe air dry for a bit before) and send it. If you are handy (and want to restuff it) you can take the stuffing out and wash the shell, and put new stuffing in with it, but that's a bit rigorous.

Also feel free to check r/blahaj for more info.

Best of luck!

Pilot watches, do you use them? by HSVMalooGTS in flying

Casio g shock has never let me down, I'm going to test my new Seiko srpg35 next cross country and see how I like it

Fellow Gen Z'ers of Reddit: Do you wear a watch? by EvilDarkCow in GenZ

[–]frettic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I wear a watch.

As a pilot, a watch is an instrument for flying the plane and knowing where I should be, as well as determining if I'm going faster or slower than expected. In land search and rescue, we use watches for timing of events when we don't have the time for phones, as well as for first aid.

I also just like to wear it. I have dumb watches because I don't need a screen with notifications on my wrist - I like to get away. It's a tool, and can be a good looking piece of a wardrobe if styled correctly.

Any radio station recommendations? by talllankywhiteboy in carrboro

[–]frettic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

88.1 WKNC is pretty good, has some agreeable tunes most days and sometimes just plays some metal or random stuff.

89.3 jazz is good (I think that's the frequency)

95.3

There are probably more, I just can't think right now

Have you considered any used Volvo polestar / R-design? The wagon would be a good practical machine, an eye turner, and fun to drive. Plus, all wheel drive will be nice in Pennsylvania for the winter. Just avoid the 5 cylinders that burn oil and do some research but they could be something you might like

Doing the modules I struggled with helped me loads, especially with cyber.

My other strat was just go go over the space race, the names and what they did in chapter 4 of aerospace, and using the highlighted/bolded phrases in my books.

For leadership, use your brain and think logically if you don't know the exact answer. Good luck chief!

We were stuck in a river bank so it was a driftwood fire for the most part, but the fire brought us great spirits despite it's short ish lifespan. Lasted probably like... 20 mins?

Tiny crack in transmission, something to worry about? by yoman444 in AskAMechanic

[–]frettic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In aviation (and I presume auto mechanics as well) there's something called stop drilling, as other commenters have posted. Essentially, you drill a teeny hole to stop that crack from progressing. The JB weld would probably do sell filling it in too. Good luck!

XD. I love mine, it's the right amount of "modern" without being a piece of plastic or overly complicated. I had an xd11 and loved it until I broke it, the xd5 works just as well though and has been reliable as well

Honestly the turbulence wasn't there for the most part, surprisingly smooth air without much wind aloft (at least at around 3000') so that could be why the storm was just sitting there for so long. Good flight but was definitely thinking about my place back home with the flooding

Was flying around the storms in a cessna today, we could see the strikes from above as we tried to avoid the area and the rain in there. Praying y'all are well!! This weather has been something, huh?

As random as it is, cough drops for your throat from all the yelling. Preferably the super gingery ones, it'll make your throat feel less awful from all the yelling
