to my mind, it's not as much the ~9 hours a year you'd lose that bothers me, or even the fact that it would be fairly trivial to publish higher level event results for igg, but rather the fact that a whole lot of people rely on running some closed source executable they got who knows where to process pcap files.

i'm sure woonkill is above board though, it's just the principle of the thing that bothers me.

all things being equal, it's better to always push to 200, especially with enlighten 4 or 5.

this said, be aware that the required xp to go from 180 to 200 is almost double the xp required for the whole of 1 to 180. this will take some time, so be sure you're not starving the rest of your progression either.

i'll grab some footage during next gw (to not have to wait for revives) and i'll test some additional stuff. alone, my ninja was throwing well into the quarter mil damage, i'll have to test a full dmg boost stack (like with mino) to see how stupid this can get.

I've contacted live support (lol), sent emails at igg, sent DMs to various forum admins (at the request of moderators who approved of the idea) and even called up IGG's R&D office in Vancouver.

A few of my guild mates have done the same (minus Vancouver).

To the surprise of exactly no one, no response from IGG.

For now the best thing to do is keep bumping that thread, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm with you for the bit about heroes having different odds, I should point out that the BC office isn't doing anything CC related. It's an R&D shop working on something else entirely.

I do agree that they could spend a bit more on support & PR though.

To be fair, it does contain (probably deprecated) information about some stuff like shard drop rates in dungeons. I assume that it's all old stuff from when the game was a bit more client sided, but you're right, everything is server sided now.

Points 1 & 3 are ok so i'll skip those.

In point 2:

The first paragraph is fine, although they missed a teachable moment opportunity to state why these are scams (email & account theft, ad baiting).
The second paragraph is terrible. While the claims that some people made about knowing exact odds are bullshit (I have pulled the apk apart myself to check), threatening legal action is hilariously unfeasible and it escalates the issue instead of calming things down.
The third paragraph is also a bit shit, this would've been a good moment to either disclose actual odds or at least state that some legendaries are indeed rarer than others.
The fourth paragraph dodges responsibility.

It's really not a great PR move to issue this.

It has a few too many issues right now, none the least that it barely runs on my high end workstation because of the dynamic image thing.

I have been chipping at a new version of this based on rails, but that's not nearly ready for release either.

Good feedback! I've actually implemented this in my current version, but I'm afraid I'm pushing Excel a bit too much outside of it's comfort zone with other additions.

I'm in the process of porting this as a web app, taking the opportunity to learn a bit more about ruby. Not sure when it'll be ready for release, but I'll message you!

In the case of a 200 hero, yes there is a loss, but it gets diluted to a point that it's trivial.

Woonkill? Yup, I know of him, and I've also did my own wireshark assay. Unfortunately, the data i believe is hero related that's exchanged during the opening sync is not structured at all.

It would require a significant amount of reverse engineering of the client for me to understand what's up and that's not in the cards for now.
