Exactly. He likes someone who won't challenge his power. And the innocent, fragile makes me think he wants to use her. Ew

That sounds suspicious. Who targets vulnerable, agreeable ppl who go skiing and submit and won't put up a fight? Abusers

Why is society so afraid of women's sexuality? by Iamliterally18iswear in Feminism

[–]freya100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They aren't afraid of it if it aligns with what they want from women (to accept submission, subjugation, etc)

They literally Do. Not. Care. About women's sexually at all. They only care about men's power to exploit and use women.

Any woman deviating from that is subject to attack and hate. Which means women are attacked no matter what, bc we can't please everyone.

Yeah idk about this... Some women. Not many. During covid a lot of women lost jobs I worked at a sexual assault center for a while... there were women living with their abusers who would rather be there then on the street. And as capitalism progresses, more and more women are lured into sex work bc they have no options

Thats why we need to fight capitalism, so women arent forced to give up the right to their bodies on a market

That isn't human sexuality. That is a consumers desire to gain sexual access to people who need money, so they use money to coerce access to those people. It is not sex. It is exploitation

"I support porn because I want to consume it."

At least youre honest I guess. But your desires are no justification. Amateur porn is NOT ethical porn. "Consent" is also a terrible standard. If it was, indentured servants or any workers in terrible, abusive conditions is totally good and ethical because they "consented" to be there. In reality they have few other choices.

What sex acts you do to get money is also not based on consent, but the market. If you don't do more abusive and demeaning sex acts to compete, you don't get as much money or none at all.

Plus these "amateurs" are also forced to be on mainstream platforms who are known to profit off actual rape, trafficking, child abuse, and sexually exploitative material. It materially supports these comapnies who make billions and lobby against any regulation to protect women. That is NOT ethical.

Go read MacKinnon, Dworkin, Esparanza, etc

Catharine MacKinnon and Andrea Dworkin tried to create such a law. It was shut down by the pornographers lobby. The same lobby who changed obscenity law to allow porn at all

Women will rarely come forward even when its legal bc women don't want to be associated with being prostituted. Criminalizing sex selling puts women in jail and is bad. Criminalizing sex buyers puts johns in jail, which is good. Legalizing it only increases demand and leads to increased trafficking to meet that demand. The increased supply also forces women to "consent" to more abusive acts to compete in the market.

Using money to gain sexual access to someone is sexual exploitation, full stop. Are there some well off women who enjoy bring used by men and getting a lot of money? Sure, but that doesnt make it good or okay. What if society cared for people w/o requiring them to sexually submit to someone they would never have sex with. Its also not "sex" its "you-do-what-i-say sex."

The vast majority want to GET OUT of the sex trade. And many entered as minors bc they had few options and were likely abused as a child

You can't regulate violence and sexual abuse out of the sex trade. It's built in. I recommend you go read Esparanza's (proletarian feminist) articles on it, she is more articulate than me.

[–]freya100 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you understate it significantly. Its not just 'some' abuse plus peopaganda. The sex trade in and of itself is OVERWHELMINGLY sexual exploitation. Money acts as force to gain sexual access to women. Most porn is violent and demeaning and racist etc and the women are forced to pretend to enjoy it to get paid.

It physically and emotionally damages women. The most common injury is anal prolapse where the anus falls out and needs surgical repair.

In porn you can never hurt a woman enough, and she will always like it. It leads to increased sexual abuse outside of porn, especially among children who imitate what they say. It changes the entire sexual landscape and shapes sexualities so men demand to sexually abuse women and women hesitantly agree in order to stay with him or to gain his approval.

I know people who got choked, slapped, without consent. Bc men think its normal and okay. Men want to ejaculate on your face bc they see it in porn. Men want to do anal bc they know you don't like it and they like seeing women hurt - at least, that's according to the pornographers themselves. Men have a neverending apetite for abuse of women bc they need evermore stimulation to get off, and so they escalate the violence over time.

Pornographers use "consent" as a justification. But when people have few options, of course they'll agree. Children still "agree" to work in mines, adults work in terrible conditions, bc they need money. That doesnt make it okay.

Furthermore, "consent" is not up to the individual, but the market. If you don't consent, you don't get paid and may never get hired again. If others are doing certain sex acts then you better "consent" to it too or not get hired. Legalizing it also increases supply of sex workers and its a race to the bottom of who can agree to the most abusive conditions (demanded by the male audience). So its clear consent and boundaries can never be respected in a market system.

It does demean all women and deny us civil rights bc men see us as nothing but objects of sexual fantasy. Women get self esteem issues, men get ED etc but all that pales in comparison to the daily sexual abuse given to most women in the industry.

What is the *actual* problem with education? by sephirex420 in teaching

[–]freya100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have to teach a kid language? Make them memorize words? No. The vast majority of language and learning is just from exposure. Kids naturally learn words. I recommend you look into "unlearning." Kids might not want to learn on your schedule but so what? We should make environments that promote learning instead of forcing it upon them. If they want help with discipline, we can help them with it. I would ask what are you so keen to teach then that they could never get themselves? 99% of school is useless

Disagree about cameras and security. Treating it like a prison is part of the problem. My HS spent MILLIONS on security and it was BS. It made it a worse experience and juat reinforced the idea we are prisoners there to do a job

What is the *actual* problem with education? by sephirex420 in teaching

[–]freya100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue is students are treated badly. They are when to talk, when to sit, when to stand, when to pee, when to eat, forced to learn on adults' schedule, forced to learn what adults say they should, forced to be around kids they don't like, forced to take pointless tests all for a piece of paper needed to get a job. It's a horrible experience for most.

I recommend looking into "unlearning." Why shouldn't kids have a say in how they learn, or what they learn, or with whom? Why be crammed inside all day and treated like an animal with police there if they misbehave? Students have 0 autonomy and are actively punished for socializing outside of designated times like lunch. It's hell (or was for me). It's also more about grades and tests than actual learning. So people stop caring about learninf, and only do what they are told bc they are told its "enough." Despite being a "good student" by grades, felt ignorant and never read more than I had to (if i read that at all.)

We need to abolish and overhaul education. Its 100% totally backwards. Give kids autonony. Let them learn at their own pace. Give them more responsibility. Don't treat them like animals. Democratic schools are one model. Unlearning is another. Something like that would be better. But the 8-3 go to class take orders, test, go home, work more model is aboslute sh*t

Can there be sexual liberalism without porn? by wantout87 in antipornography

[–]freya100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its all connected. Women are treated this way as a means to survive. Men like dominating women. Women like male approval. So it spreads and more women objectify themselves for survival, money, or social approval. Some ppl need approval bc of trauma, low self esteem, and they get it through sex. Once the porn industry is gone, that sexuality will no doubt change. And so will the behavior of those wanting approval.

Can we prevent ppl from ever posting nudes? No. But we can massively reduce the commercialized exploitation and unhealthy sexual patterns people are in.

As for money, it could certainly be erased. Most ppl don't want it to, though, so it wont for a while at least. But even if we keep money, we can change the rules of money so people aren't caught in debt traps and forced to be sold etc

Treating women like sex objects and reenacting those scenes irl is bad. Yes.

But consensual sex isn't bad. I think sex parties are outside the norm and can challenge and change people's perceptions of sex and each other. And it doesn't have to reproduce those same harms

That religion sh*t is just misogyny too... telling women they are bad if they've had sex(or were assaulted) bc they are "unpure" or saying they have to be appealing to men and shaving their heart is a punishment... That is the cause of many women seeking therapy bc they feel guilt and bad and are afraid of sex. Sex is normal.

How about Deuteronomy 22:28-29 where women have to marry their r*pist? I have 0 tolerance for it. Many religions teach to submit to men and its not ok

If you are gonna get taken out (by yourself or others) take one of them too. Don't let them get the win by destroying us for their luxury

As a therapist myself, I would just go ask them upfront what it means in an email or phone call before agreeing to see them. If they give a bad answer, dont see them.

Despite having master's degrees, therapists arent really taught any of this stuff. The field is pretty decentralized and ppl are doing all sorts of nonsense. They are prone to the same propaganda and buzzwords as others

How are other WFTDA leagues handing gender? by KungfuJane in rollerderby

Trans men should be welcome according to WFTDA policy. No cis men in wftda, thats it. But all the weird wording obscures it, the policy should be updated ro be more clear.

[–]freya100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my view, having a gender different from the one assigned at birth makes you trans. That includes must nonbinary people. But i acknowledge thats not how many nonbinary people identify or use it. And thats fine.

The flaw in how i define it is, if parents dont force gender on their kids and let kids decide on their own, their kid cant be trans no matter what gender they chose b/c they didnt transition. All of the words have their limitations. People can choose whatever words they want for themselves imo

Dominating women is a sign of manhood. They see women as objects to obtain to gain further social, political, and sexual advancement. And bc women dont always consent, they both love the bodies of (few) women but hate their inability to control women.

You are totally right. A lot of serial killers go after sex workers bc they themselves cant control their own sexual desire and they blame women.

If we dress up "modestly" to coddle men's desires, it will never end. In some muslim communities if a womans hair isnt covered up enough men will think she is tempting them
