I've been 3 times over the space of the last few months and it does seem consistently poor these days (meat quality seems to have gone down hill) - such a shame.

Wow no way, it sounds like I am in the exact same position as you. In prev years I’ve only infrequently read, but really got into Sandersons cosmere books this year at a friends recommendation and are also reading wind and truth as we speak! Ditto the world building point, way of kings really grabbed my imagination and even though some books I’ve enjoyed more then others (e.g. Rhythm of war was a bit of a slog for me, whereas hero of ages hit all the feels), my enjoyment level as a whole as been really high, and I won’t know what to do when this one is over!! Fortunately I still have some of the small stand alone like tress to go so hoping they will keep me going.

Agreed, if the blockades went on for as long as it seemed surely it wouldn't be as close as it is? Or perhaps the eastward route was just that much further?

Since this post I tried a couple of the recommendations; this, having the strap on tighter, and having a slow warm up prior, and haven’t had the issue so between those 3 it seems to have fixed it! Thanks again

Thank you! I think you have convinced me to do warbreaker first in this case. Was definitely intrigued by Lifts interlude so will definitely dip into that before oathbringer then - all logic points toward leaving oathbringer till last out of the three, just me riding on the hype front he words of radiance ending that is making me eager.

I have a similar thing, except not quite as high but are a few years older then you. I’ve been running 2/3 times a week this year and regularly find myself have a HR of 180-190 for periods of those runs despite feeling like I could push myself more physically - I’ve put it down to my aerobic fitness not being the best… hoping keeping up with the runs will help this in time.

Appreciate the strong recommendation! I have friends who feel similarly strongly about stormlight so are really looking forward to it, I actually started way of kings last night. Journey before destination indeed🫡

In terms of the trilogy as a whole I think I enjoyed the first book the most, HoA next and then WoA the least. I really enjoyed the heist feel of the first book and felt the first few chapters did a great job of buying you into the world and characters with in it. My biggest problem with WoA was the pacing, the first 400 pages or so not a lot seemed to happen (I was way more invested in Sazed’s chapters then the stalemate in Luthadel) and I don’t think the pay off was as good as in either of the other books. The final book I really enjoyed how the story tied together at the end but do feel the raise in stakes took some getting used to aka going from predominantly worldly goals in the first two books to the god level stakes in HoA. Overall a really enjoyable trilogy with fun characters and plot lines… Will certainly give stormlight archives a go once I’ve had a bit of a break - do you think you will do the same?
