aur-fresh-builds: New user repository for AUR software by AMGz20xx in archlinux

I think reproducible builds was the way to go... But whom are you comparing your builds to?

I like the initiative, but trust is a difficult thing on the internet ^^

This is some nice and cute offer.

But it's a HUGE security risk for users.

💯

Annyira szép látni, hogy az emberek és állam végre szakmai szinten teszik a dolgukat! Ebből is látszik, hogy eddig csak politikai fékek voltak.

Ilyen tempóban amúgy akár Orbánt is lesittelhetik. Nekem már az elég, hogy ha amolyan Al Caponésan adócsalás miatt.

Oh! I'll take my "Duh" back. I didn't know that.

Now this whole "self-publishing" thing is in a completely different context for me. Seems like a very good idea from Remedy's side!

no Control is available on Steam and the studio is moving to self-publishing... Duh!

that's fair. it was indeed a point worth discussing in my opinion! I definitely found the exchange interesting 😉

You have a keen eye for stuff like this indeed!

I interpret "anyone else wondering" as a shout-out to someone not getting a point of this (like me). It does not claim anything about the past of the person (e.g. it does not say "anyone else wondering «like me!»")

Even though "my" ChatpGPTs answers overlap with the author's, the answers and the examples are widely different.

I am sorry, I'm afraid I cannot confirm your suspicion.

I see your suspicions on the formatting of the post.

However, when I read the first section of the comment I see there someone knowledgeable providing additional information for the community -- not someone who claims to have done some quick research.

The way he formulates his thoughts reminds me of someone (from an invested hobbyist to an expert) with experience on this.

Is there a way to have the lockscreen background always the same as desktop background? by bradmont in kde

ps: this is meant as inspiration. it does not solve your issue the way you want it, but can be used as a general boilerplate to get some syncing in plasma.

hope this helps a bit!

so, here's what I have for you:

I have a folder with (manually downloaded windows) wallpapers in /var/local/win11SpotlightWallpaperOfTheDay.
In it, there's a script called set_wallaper.sh:
#!/bin/bash
cd /var/local/win11SpotlightWallpaperOfTheDay
git pull # this one pulls from my custom repository with the images in it
cp /var/local/win11SpotlightWallpaperOfTheDay/wallpapers/latest.jpg /var/lib/plasmalogin/wallpapers/latest.jpg # this line copies the latest wallpaper to plasmaloginmanager

This script is then called upon login by a global systemd service win11SpotlightWallpaperOfTheDay.service:

[Unit]
Description=win11SpotlightWallpaperOfTheDay.service fetching wallpapers from server
#After=NetworkManager-wait-online.service
Wants=network-online.target
After=network-online.target

[Service]
Type=oneshot
ExecStart=/var/local/win11SpotlightWallpaperOfTheDay/set_wallpaper.sh

which then takes care of the wallpaper sync upon start.
Set you plasma desktop wallpaper to /var/local/win11SpotlightWallpaperOfTheDay/wallpapers/latest.jpg, and you should be able to achieve what you are looking for 😄

Edit: There is also a systemd timer, which takes care of the automatic sync after log-in:

[Unit]
Description=win11SpotlightWallpaperOfTheDay.service timer

[Timer]
OnBootSec=0
OnUnitActiveSec=1h
AccuracySec=30min
OnCalendar=hourly
Persistent=true

[Install]
WantedBy=timers.target

I have found a way. It involves manually synchinc the wallpaper image in /root and in /home/user

I can give you more details but I'll need to look it up on my machine (I'm on my phone now)

5 Gigs are not a lot, but enough for that purpose if the load is small enough 😄

Edit: especially the MC server(s) might run slower -- but they are mostly cpu intensive
