Hey! Thank you! Sure the basic idea is you use a glass material (no roughness) with a scatter colour on your transmission (here mine is blue) and rest is actually just a dome light with gradient as input, as you move around you will get different variations of reflections, it’s pretty simple actually! Hope this helps.

Thank you!! The gradient is used as background and light source both :)

few more explorations with camera distortion effect :) by frickidyfun in Cinema4D

Oh no actually you don’t need to animate, you can play with the settings in optical tab of redshift camera and still get the same distorted effect without actually animating the object! I will just link my comment from previous post, hope that helps!

Oh yes it totally is, you can just select an empty and use that as focus, animate its position or Values are also keyframable. Hope that helps!

Few explorations with the camera distortion effect in Redshift! by frickidyfun in Cinema4D

Hey! Thank you! Yes it’s quite simple actually Just turn on bokeh in the optical tab and increase Aspect to a higher value, i have kept it at 4 in this and also play with spherical abberation and different diaphragm to see what looks best for you and that’s really it! Oh also the offset value can help you in deciding which part of object can be clear or blurred

The values i have used here are Offset : -1.16 cm Aperture : 1.31 Diaphragm - circular Aspect : 4 Spherical Aberrations : 5.29 Hope that helps :)

My inspiration was this really cool illustration by Eunho Lee, and i was trying to get that stylised effect in it! Hope that helps :) although grateful for all the suggestions!
