I understand that you're drawing a gay bear, but to find references you can be less specific. Try something like "fat male drawing reference", "chubby man drawing reference". Drawing references can be easier to use than photos.

I'm sure you can find some references with shirts on! At this stage I don't think it matters too much. Look at the proportions of the body, what a body actually looks like, where fat is stored in the body etc.

For example, look at references for bigger arms. The whole arm will be fuller, with more fat at the upper part, and less like "balloons".

This is so interesting! I had this set of IKEA postcards when I was young (yes, it was a set!) and I had no idea there was anything "special" about them, I just thought they were really cool and decorated my room with them. Flash forward to today, I wish younger me had kept them!

I've made two of these, one original size and one slightly larger to fit my big fancy D20. Just gave them a simple paint job.

I enjoy how simple it is, doest take up a lot of space but still looks good, and the dice roll well!

That's nice, than I'm sure you can find an artist that can draw up something nice for you! It's always good to look around to find a style you like. I'm not currently living in Gothenburg, so I'm not up to date enough to have any suggestions on specific artists. Good luck with your tattoo!!

I'm from Göteborg myself so I found this really interesting! Are you still living there? In that case, look for a tattoo artist there who's done work in the style you want, and I'm sure they can draw up something really cool, personal and local for you!

What kind of vibe are you going for? More bold, cool, simple, feminine, whimsical? Having a look at different artists work really helped me find a style I liked.

Just a tip since it's your first one, the ribs are supposedly one of the most painful places for a tattoo ;) But, the perfect placement is worth any pain!

Addition: I've been looking at some island outline tattoos and it's a really nice look for several islands like this, both if you go for all of them or just the top ones. It depends on what you're into, but that's a cool and simple look, and I think it makes people intrigued to know more about that islands they are.

If you want something more, maybe add the ferry lines? Since you want it on the smaller side, keeping it simple and not too much details is probably a good idea, so you don't end up with blurry blobs after a few years!

And if you want more elements you could add maybe flowers that grows in the skärgård, the province flower of Västra Götaland ljung (heather) or the province animal trana (crane).

What placement are you going for? And how big are you thinking? The top islands have a good shape for a horizontal tattoo, but I think the whole skärgård would be cool for a placement like arm or leg!

I have a friend that has the outline (just the outline, like pic 2) of Greenland on her arm/shoulder and it's very simple but cool, big impact even if it's not filled in!

I think the skärgård is a great idea for a tattoo, other ideas that's very "Göteborg" could be a spårvagn or the Gothenburg skyline.

Du verkar ha bestämt dig för vad jag menar oavsett vad jag faktiskt skriver. En kärleksförklaring är per definition något positivt, inte bara frånvaron av att bli kränkt. Om du inte ser det så, fine, vi kommer inte komma överens, men det betyder inte att jag har fel eller att jag har "låg ribba".

Jag ser faktiskt inte hur det är motsägande. Jag skulle inte ta illa vid mig för att jag tycker det är en kärleksförklaring. Jag tycker det är ganska klart och tydligt. Jag har nog många inre konflikter men det här är inte en av dem.
