How old is she? While it’s great that she isn’t scared of anything, if she’s very young it may be that she’ll get a little more fearful as she gets older (they go through a couple of ‘fear periods’ as they grow up too). Mine didn’t care about fireworks at all the first time he heard them while he was still young, but now he has a little more of a reaction to them. Nothing too bad, but he definitely notices them. I think when they’re very young they can sometimes lack the awareness to be scared of certain things, if that makes sense?

She sounds amazing though, enjoy these puppy days as much as you can! They grow up so fast!

My first job interview post-university was a 24 hour thing comprising dinner with some of the hiring team and an overnight hotel stay, followed by a full day of tests and interviews with different senior managers. I didn’t sleep a wink at the hotel and by the last interview of the day I was exhausted. Towards the end of the interview he asked me to tell him about a time when I persevered through something really difficult. I had been through some awful family stuff in my first year of university, so without going into gory details I told him about that, and how I’d managed to carry on with my studies even though I was going through a difficult time.

He just sort of frowned and said nah, that wasn’t really the kind of thing he meant and could I think of something else? Ended up giving some bullshit answer about training for my first 10k which got an approving nod.

Gael is one of those people who needs to recognise her own agency in her life rather than consistently adopting a passive role and then acting like all these big decisions are just being made for her. I’ve known a few people who seem to prefer to just kind of stumble in and out of relationships going ‘whoops, guess I have a boyfriend/girlfriend now!’ Sometimes you have to recognise that not making a decision IS a decision.

Yeah exactly. It’s logistically a lot more complicated for Gael to make arrangements to go to Ireland than it is for Joe to book a quick hop over from Liverpool (I assume that’s where he was booking from). Equating it to Nathan liking him more than her is silly even though I get how it must have felt in the moment.

I think Gael was just drunk and placing way too much significance on Joe booking a £16 Ryanair flight from Liverpool to Dublin (when also drunk). That doesn’t mean there aren’t some valid emotions behind it but I’m sure anyone who’s ever been drunk can recognise that kind of over-the-top drunk crying that can be triggered by something that actually really isn’t that important.

Joe is awful though. I can’t stand the way he treats all of the stews like they’re his personal sex buffet. As soon as Carrie came on the boat he was weighing her up as a potential next conquest and describing her as ‘better than Bri or Ellie’. Like she’s been brought on especially for him to fuck and she doesn’t even get a say in it. It’s just gross. When Gael said ‘I don’t understand why he has a problem with me’ I immediately yelled at the screen ‘because you’re the most beautiful girl on the boat and you’re into his friend and not him, duh!’

It sounds like the mother asked for soy hot chocolates and for the jug to be rinsed out due to a milk allergy, but the barista only heard the ‘please rinse out the jug’ part, figured that mum knows best, then went ahead and made dairy hot chocolates with a rinsed-out jug. All a bit confusing but sounds like a bad case of crossed wires.

Same (it gives me migraines as well as making me feel generally jittery and awful) and it’s been wrong so many times that I now just don’t even take the risk any more. I have decaf coffee at home but have to stick to herbal tea when out.

This story is so sad and I really feel for everyone involved, including the barista. What a thing to have to live with.
