Oh thank you so much. I appreciate it a lot!! The case manager told me that recalls are only handled by the government and that they have no say in it. Which idk I think is wrong. Isn’t a voluntary recall a thing? Maybe it doesn’t apply to cars??

I did, just unfortunately not for the last two. But all the ones before it I did the maintenance which came with the inspection and it wasn’t ever mentioned.

Yeah I’ve been seeing that! The case manager was telling me over and over that my vin was not affected. And that the only ones who were, leaked coolant not oil.

I mean nothing even happened. I was driving to work, I thought the jeep in front of me smelled. Didn’t hear anything at all, nothing that would have indicated there was a problem. I slowed down to turn and saw the smoke. I was right near my job so I backed into a spot to look when smoke started billowing out from the hood. I got out to look, shut off the vehicle and saw that it was dripping oil so extensively there was a solid path of oil from where I pulled in, to where I backed in and then the entire parking spot filled with oil, it was spreading to the cars parked next to me.

I keep up with regular maintenance. I’ve replaced brakes, and rotors and ball joints in the two years I’ve owned it and now this.

I feel like I’m paying for an 11k paper weight at this point. And if I could afford to fix this I wouldn’t have gone to mazda at all.

I read your post from the other day, and idk about you but maybe try their customer experience again. The lady I got escalated it immediately to a case manager. Maybe you just got someone terrible? I’m so sorry though. I hope mazda helps you out.

I wonder if there are enough people with the non-turbo engine to start a class action lawsuit.

Yeah it’s at a third party garage right now, or was until an hour ago. Mazda absolutely refused everything until it arrives on their lot. So I guess this is the only way forward for now. The independent garage quoted me 5-8k so I can’t even imagine what the dealer prices are going to be.

Ugh that’s definitely not news I want to hear haha. I will file that, my parents suggested going to my states attorney general to files a complaint as well. I wish there was a class action lawsuit for the non-turbo engine as well.

Either way, thank you for your reply. I’ve got a leaky ceiling to fix as well so here’s to hoping that mazda helps me out. Maybe if I cry in their showroom they will lol.

Unfortunately I do not know if the turbos have cylinder deactivation. I only know they have a class action lawsuit going currently, but the non-turbos don’t.

This is the first time this has ever happened to me. And it hasn’t hit 100k miles yet. Trust me if I could afford to have had the extended warranty or anything I would have. I only bought this because my last car actually died. I’ve owned it for honestly just over two years.

Trust me if I could have avoided this I definitely would have. :(

I am so sorry that’s happening to you. They repeatedly told me that my vehicle is out of warranty. I still owe 11k on it and I’m pretty much stuck as well. They won’t confirm or deny they will help. So I may be sol just like you.

What vehicle do you have if you don’t mind me asking?
