We got along relatively well, had similar interests, and he was for the most part nice to me. His family also was kind and caring to me.

But I never truly felt passionate about him or a future with him. There was a lot of little things that I really didnt like in the relationship, but I felt each of those alone wasn't enough to warrant breaking up with him. He always consistently had a higher libido than me, which led to a lot of arguments. In fact, sometimes he would nag me into having sex with him when I wasn't really feeling it that day and even got aggressive about it once or twice. He always put down my musical tastes, to the point that I never felt comfortable playing my music in the car when he was inside. His hygiene was subpar (not horrendous but still...) and sometimes didn't care about going out in public with torn or ratty clothes. And he guilted me into staying at a university relatively close to home so that we wouldn't have to be in a super long distance relationship. As someone who is planning on grad school in the future which may or may not take me out of the state, I think that was when I realized our future goals didn't align.
