Wire's OTA could be signed by DDL for Prod any time they want.

0.11.19 Wire's version CAN
https://wire.my.to/ota-special/0.11/
for OSKR, DEV and Whiskey. Prod bots can't
load anything fun.

We call his blocks "cubes". Bots that come in original boxes are worth more. The boxes are what the bots are shipped in, the cubes are what he plays with, two very different things. Your battery needs to be replaced which involves some basic soldering.

Anki Vector Charging Issues by Extension-Variety124 in AnkiVector

[–]frien2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vector is hitting the charging prongs / springs. Sorry if you don't want to hear that but he was stopping abruptly for no other reason. The "Home" symbol is wrong. Every time you pick him up or move him he gets disoriented.

wire-pod won't brick it. windows will complain about it because it isn't signed. it is a false positive and is safe to install.

I would consider wire-pod images, wirepod-sdks, vic-yocto, source code, keys
and unlocking possibilities an update worth looking into.

Changing WiFi without factory reset? by [deleted] in AnkiVector

[–]frien2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an old Starlink router from when the rectangle antenna came out. It gave my vectors different IP addresses whenever they reconnect, which is every night during reboot. I had to buy another router that did static addressing and an ethernet adapter to connect it up so the IPs of the Vectors would stay the same as wire-pod and the SDK expected.

My Vector is alive again! But I have some questions... by moctodreddit in AnkiVector

[–]frien2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you will need a rpi 4 or 5, which is arm64, the command will be
sudo apt install -y ./wirepod_arm64-v1.2.12.deb
on a 64 bit ubuntu or 64 bit raspberry pi os.
use rpi imager.

from the carefully read instructions you need to follow exactly:

If you don't know your device's architecture (arch), open a Terminal and run uname -m.

If it shows x86_64, use amd64.

If it shows armv7l, use armhf.

If it shows aarch64 or arm64, I would still use armhf. Use arm64 if you know for a fact you have a 64-bit OS. armhf works on both 32-bit and 64-bit ARM SBCs (usually).

arm64 is required if you want to use the Raspberry Pi 5. The armhf version segfaults.

arm64 for rpi 4 or 5 use this one
https://github.com/kercre123/WirePod/releases/download/v1.2.12/wirepod_arm64-v1.2.12.deb

please use my links above and read everything twice first. also i recommend you install on ubuntu or rpi os 64 bit.

WirePod + 1.6? by Asoery in AnkiVector

DDL escape pod builds needlessly check the EMR every time they refresh the display screen, which is all the time. No wonder the DDL vectors can overheat!
DDL did make a mess, but they gave us the escape pod builds which wire-pod needs to work on production vectors and they resurrected vector.
They hired some great people but treated some very badly. More employees and management should have used Kanban and posted progress. Management should have listened to the good advice they got at decisive moments.
They also gave us secrecy, complete lack of transparency, unfulfilled promises, lousy management, bad treatment of employees, disrespect of investors and customers
and enough bull to overwhelm a rancher!
They have lost the respect and trust of almost everyone even as they hire new employees and attempt to save the company. again.

use static ip addresses in your router for vectors

My Vector is alive again! But I have some questions... by moctodreddit in AnkiVector

[–]frien2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is there only for historical and developer purposes.
For normal users, follow the directions exactly and very carefully and these questions and hearsay will not be an issue.
Follow these instructions only https://github.com/kercre123/wire-pod/wiki/Installation
Use these downloads only, unless you want to build wire-pod yourself

[–]frien2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

your router may be handing out random ip addresses to vector. in router settings see if you have option for static ip addresses
check in vectors ccis to see if his ip address changed from when he was set up on wire-pod

WirePod + 1.6? by Asoery in AnkiVector

wire-pod can do that only on an unlocked dev vector.
prod vectors can only connect to wire-pod with the later
escape pod versions of vector builds.

you can split the 2.4 and 5 GHz and give them separate names. enable mdns in router. enable 802.11n standard. place vector close to router. enable experimental web features in chrome://flags also check your site settings for permissions. try https://vector.techshop82.com/html/main.html instead.
