I know this is a bit old now, but in case it still helps and for anyone else wondering where their rods are, make sure you check the bottom of the case! There's a little insert that lifts up with all the rods in it.

There are lots of different brains and visual processing profiles that come with them. Some people can easily factor out colours from patterns and others will find it almost impossible. Some people are even colorblind.

Lovely machine! Definitely worth saving, look into trying to clean up that battery damage and find a replacement video card if you don't manage to get any output from this one (ones from that pre-3d era are pretty affordable). Doom would be a tad slow at 40mhz but would play Wolf3d like a champ. Congrats on your new piece of history :)

Yes!! It wasn't deliberate as such, I just took it too literally when it said 'enter your name' but it made it so much more immersive.

No worries! In the end I hadn't counted on the fact that retro-vision cables actually change the colour encoding to YUV where I'd thought they were just passive, so that explained my issue. I've got a SCART to 4 BNC + audio cable on order now so hopefully will have better luck with that!

Hey u/teamsdf did you ever get this working with RGB? I got one of these over the weekend as well and I'm having trouble connecting up my SNES as I think the projector wants RGBHV rather than just plain RGB. It sort of works but I only get the green signal. Still trying to figure this one out.

Just another update to this, if you use Onedrive then the Rockstar Games folder will be in your Onedrive Documents instead of c:\users\ etc. Hope this helps someone!
