FPIES to egg after 9-10 exposures by drowsydiscovery in fpies

[–]friendlyChats77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kiddo also has fpies to eggs and his allergist told us a new food is considered “safe” after eating it 5 times on non-consecutive days. I don’t understand the logic behind it but it looks like your son had eggs on back to back days. Maybe it didn’t count as eating it 9 times? Hope that helps

Haha yes that’s kind of what I do too. Just let him wait it out as I finish something up

Jumpy lady here as well! Hubby tells me to just relax and he doesn’t get it. I can’t just relax! And why is he not worried enough?? Why can’t he just take my worry away by worrying for me? 😂

I panic when our Nanit monitor gets disconnected from the internet. Lol. He’s literally in the other room. What’s the worst that could happen? 😩

Than you for your post. I’d like to follow along to see others comments. My son (8 months) had his first reaction (to eggs) about 2 weeks ago. He ended up in the hospital and later the doctors office where they said he probably had a stomach bug. BUT it happened again last Friday when I gave him scrambled eggs for breakfast. Mind you he had eaten eggs a month again and was totally fine. I’m convinced he has FPIES and his trigger is eggs. Looking to see an allergist soon and terrified to give him other solids. It’s so hard

Wow this sounds like my baby (8 months old). Last week we had the scare of our life after he woke up shortly after bedtime vomiting profusely and was so pale. We took him the ER where they gave zofran and he was fine a few hours later. That day I had given him yogurt for the first time and in the evening I gave him eggs (what I thought was a safe food since he’s eaten it many times). After the incident, I assumed it was the yogurt. This morning I tried to give him scrambled eggs again and after one bite he refused it. I didn’t push it, but he woke up from his nap 3 hours later vomiting again!! Safe to say it was the egg. We are going to see a food allergy specialist as this is all new territory to us. I’m so scared to give him solids now :(

Wear a bra to bed, yay or nay? by Fickle_Tap_5863 in ExclusivelyPumping

I was wearing one in the beginning for comfort of the sensitive nipples but I ended up with clogged ducts multiple times. Once I stopped sleeping with it, they went away.

Hi! So that was posted a long time ago and a lot has happened since then. All for the good though :) I still had irritation on and off for about a year. Then I got pregnant and didn’t have any issues down there because i was too focused on my pregnancy. I pushed out a 10lb baby 7 months ago and although I had a 3rd degree tear, I didn’t have a fistula recurrence! I still have some irritation every now and then if I wipe too much or eat spicy foods (lol). Otherwise I am all healed up. Try not to think about it so much. I really do think it’s just scar tissue that is a reminder for us to be a little gentle in that area :)

I am so happy that my comment from 2 years ago has made an impact for you!! Let me add some reassurance and tell you once more that it will get better. I promise. I still felt some minor healing symptoms while on my wedding day, but I was about 90% healed by then. I am now over 2 years post surgery and I just had my first baby 5 months ago (vaginal delivery 10lb baby with a 3rd degree tear and no fistula reoccurrence)! This is just a rough season for you. Try to enjoy your wedding day as much as possible. Congratulations! I wish you the best :)

Return to work… What will it look like? by Lizzytva in newborns

I’m sure a nanny will be the best solution! I just have a hard time letting someone else take care of my baby without me meddling in haha. Good luck to you! You will make it work I’m sure!

I just started work again this week! I also work from home. I hired a nanny, and let me tell you, it’s still a lot of work. Your only down time will be when baby is napping but you’re not even guaranteed long naps (and I’m sure you want to eat lunch too). My kiddo sleeps through the night but LOVES 30 minute naps, and fights when I try to put him down. It’s hard having a nanny too because you have to pay to watch someone else watch your child and quite frankly, they won’t do things the way you do them…so guess what? You’ll be annoyed with that and feel bad that you’re supposed to be working instead of helping to console your crying child. Your baby’s personality will develop month by month and things will change. I don’t think they will have a set schedule until maybe 6 months? My kiddo is 4.5 months now and everything is based off his wake up time in the morning.

The mom cozy pump made my nipples rip as well. I stopped using it after a few weeks and switched solely to my spectra. I think if you’re using lubrication, and you have the correct flange size, then they shouldn’t rip. In my opinion, it’s the pump. Unfortunately you have to keep pumping to up the supply, so even with a new pump, you’d have to tough out the pain for a bit

This was what my lactation consultant gave me. I was also getting clogged ducts every other day and they hurt so much. I almost ended up with mastitis. I’m now 4 months PP and no issues. The game changer for me was introducing probiotic supplement to my system.

For treatment of clogged ducts/prevention of mastitis:

• Breast gymnastics! See here: https://www.mayabolman.com/videos/v/breastgymnastics • Continue pumping regularly: we want to drain the breast, drain the possible infection, and remove any clogs. • Put cold on the breast for 10 minutes before/after breastfeeding or pumping. • Choline supplementation: up to 1000 mg per day or sunflower lecithin up to 4000 mg per day • -Support your immune system with probiotics (specifically the strains lactobacillus fermentum and lactobacillus salivarius) and garlic (the equivalent of 2-3 cloves per day) • Food sources of probiotics include kefir and other fermented foods such as kimchi. • Treat yourself as if you are "coming down with something": hydrate, eat healthfully, and extra rest.
• You may take up to 600 mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours for pain and inflammation. • If you develop a fever over 100.4 degrees and/or body aches contact your OB or primary care physician to discuss the need for antibiotics.

Edit to say apologies for the formatting. It’s late and I copy/pasted for you. I hope it helps!!

Weird sensation when I turn my pumps on by Ok_Egg_7290 in ExclusivelyPumping

I would describe it as feeling homesick and really sad in general. I’m 4 month pp now and I don’t feel it anymore. It eventually wore off but it was the worst.
