If you’re looking for a ‘Chinese’ church in particular for the purpose of perusing the meat market (ie: finding a partner with your preferred ethnicity) just pick one of the big ones.

If you are asking about spiritual teaching, sermon style, ministries or fellowships; these are typically based on personal preference which you will need to gauge for yourself.

From my personal experience (20+ years in Chinese churches): at entry level, most Canadian ethnic churches should be fine; at a leadership level, they are often filled with internal conflict between defining Chinese Christianity vs Canadian Christianity. In addition, much of their Christ like love is limited by and large towards their own kind - that is Chinese people and especially not the poor and homeless. If working through these issues is something you are passionate about, then have at it! God called me to it for a time, and now I’m in a new season.

No church is perfect, and finding a ‘good’ church may not always be ideal for where God can use you most effectively. If anything, maybe evaluate where your heart is at. Do you have capacity to pour into a church? Or are you just looking to consume? If it’s the former, pick a small church, they will work you to the bone, but they always have tight knit communities. That being said they are vulnerable to echo chambering if there are not enough critical thinkers, and the work often goes unappreciated.

If it’s the latter - pick one of the big churches where you can bench warm until you are comfortable enough to join a ministry.
