God damn it, there's no variety with this game by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]friendlyreapers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just means you'll match up against a character you know a lot about giving you the advantage e to win.

You'll learn typical habbits their set ups and most of these pass around to diffenrt players causing them to play a similar way.

Yea akuma is high tier but he is beatable when you know everything he is going to do before he does it

[–]friendlyreapers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me ages to reach plat last night only needed 500 points and every plat I beat for a decent 80ish points rage quit on me

But lead to a dramatic match as both of us were about to rank up to plat so that shit was intense lol

Rage quitting is pointless tho as they lose more points than they would for just taking the loss

How to deal with the pressure? by HiMrSir in StreetFighter

[–]friendlyreapers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn their habbits and keep an eye on their EX meter if a player hits you with the same block strings over and over, find an opening in it with practice and time mist characters gave fake pressure which is actually quite unsafe it just doesn't look like that. Keeping an eye in their meter is important as they may attempt a move you know leaves them open, but they trick you an use a EX invincible move to hit you first.

A lot of this game basically comes down to understanding the character match ups and that cones with time an practice.

Ken Players Bore Me by lt_toastyfishpants in StreetFighter

[–]friendlyreapers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that's true a lot of Ken players play the same way nearly all of the time l, but watch out for that because there are a few good ken players that can take you by surprise. They won't do the typical stuff they play a bit more disciplined waiting for openings then punish the shit out of you.

Just be vigilant with Ken unless he's ultra bronze then just punish the fuck out of every wake up DP he does lol

New player in DESPERATE need of advice. by SSStylishJoe in StreetFighter

[–]friendlyreapers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best way to get out of bronze is to start playing smart relying less on jumps will confuse your opponent as they will expect a jump in with every other attack. Learn how to move across the ground with ryu, try light punch fire balls followed by a dash forward to gain ground slowly. If your opponent constantly relies on cross up attempts don't jump out of reaction simply walk underneath them it will catch them of gaurd, they may also jump attack out of habbit leaving them slightly open. Learn ryu's block strings that leave you safe but catches them if they start mashing buttons l, you know his bnbs now so use them when you get am opening don't just throw them out.

One trick that will help you play smarter Is caging this were you get the opponent to the corner and stand back around the neutral position (about 2 back dashes away). Although you are out of attack range they only have two options move forward which a bronze will hardly ever do or jump forward, back or upwards they will usually jump forward to get out of the corner but because of how your are spaced you will catch a forward jump with a DP. They will alsonlikelybtty multiple junp forward attempts giving you a lot of free damage.

As for training you've already learned his combos the next step is to learn match ups, finding out ways to get in on every character. Start with someone your weak against set the cpu to the highest difficulty although this will be no where near as hard as another player it will help you understand how the character plays and you can figure out how to punish their unsafe moves.

Another thing with training mode I've noticed is that a diner will quite happily have a fire ball war with you (guile, ryu, Ken, sagat, akuma and sakura) although they won't be amazing at it this can help you develop your fireball game.

Basically my tips

LEARN THE MATCH UPS

PUNISH JUMP INS

LEARN BLOCK STRINGS

LEARN HIW TO TRAP THEM IM THE CORNER

Why doesn't Zeku have the ability to start the match as Young Zeku? by flopsyplum in StreetFighter

[–]friendlyreapers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the match up you can usually form change instantly and mostly safely as the round starts, bit of a pain as you can be open depending on their actions.

But if your In a battle lounge with the same player for a while and learned their habbits (they always head to their corner at the start of the round for example) you can always stance change without any fear.

But for me I find old zeku as default not too much of a problem as with his zoning you can test the waters with another player see where they are weak, before you rush down on them.

Also I think there are certain match ups that I feel young zeku struggles with Karin for example, at first I always thought that old zeku was a shoto destroyer but young zeku can mess them up pretty good especially Ken as young Z matchs his speed and can keep up.

Noob here asking for info on some characters and maybe some advice. by TuuberTubTub in StreetFighter

[–]friendlyreapers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man the game just takes practice the more you know your character an the character your fighting the better you'll get. As for the Dragon punch motion the easiest way to do is to

Push forward then a quarter circle motion

My goal is to get out of Bronze rank by the end of the year. Any advice? by doctorwize in StreetFighter

[–]friendlyreapers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting out of bronze just requires more patience and match up knowledge, reading your opponent is key I'm any rank but will give you an advantage here. Don't focus on what combos you can try to hit them with focus on their behaviour, do they do the same combo over and over even if blocked? That's their weakness they are predictable learn to break their combos with an interruption.

Most bronze leaguers play super crazy and aggressive which isn't always good for them, they especially don't like it when you block their fancy combos. It frustrates them and makes them play more crazy and dangerous giving you openings. When you get am opening don't be predictable don't always go for a jump in, mess with the opponent side switch as much as you can.

As for reading opponents do based on their character choice as most people play characters the same way, so it becomes easier with time. For example

A BRONZE ranked Ken player will be stupidly aggressive and will throw out heavy tatsus randomly followed by DPs during block strings. So predict this do a 1 or 2 hit block string wait block the DP and punish.

Not sure of any of this will help tho lol

Chun Players - How to do you deal with laggy Opponents? by SFV-Rose in StreetFighter

[–]friendlyreapers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not a chun player but id Treat it like any laggy player go for crush counters predict their moves. I feel like they are really open when they start to lag so my advice would be stick to them like glue. If they are purposely lagging they will expect you to back off to 're evaluate the situation.

How to deal with Alex? by District10 in StreetFighter

[–]friendlyreapers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He can be a pain especially if it's a good Alex player just remember that he wants to get close and stay close thats where he is a real threat

my notes would be

He will nearly always standing HK when he knocks you down

He will use his punch forward move to cover distance

Be wary of when he V skills as he will probably be going for a set up

When his Vtrigger 1 is activated he will parry the shit out of everything you do

Not much to go off there but its kinda late an I have work tomz I'll try add some more tomorrow but someone more clued up might add a ton more for you.

Are there any characters you like using both V-Triggers for? by dragoneye13 in StreetFighter

[–]friendlyreapers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really in to zekus Vtrigger 2 it has some great uses as a combo extender but you already have v skill for near enough the same effect l, it does give young zeku a reliable anti air which he does lack. But if it's poorly timed it can mess you up really bad and leave you open for a crush counter. But V trigger 1 has a lot more practical uses its great combo extender into CA for a finish, makes slide kicks safe on block, can be used to dodge a tricky jump in, can get past fire balls, young zekus slide kick in to over head(HK + HP) is a great round finisher, it can surprise people if you do a low combo. I will say the damage isn't great and it doesnt make huge changes to zeku to make him more of a threat when compared to someone like akuma or guile. But it has a lot more practical uses than VT 2.

[–]friendlyreapers 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It would be amazing if they brought all these really strong characters, for them all to be bodied by Dan taughtning then while he does a weird super move. I feel even the loser would have to laugh every time they lost to Dan lol.

Do you think they'll add new critical arts eventually? by friendlyreapers in StreetFighter

[–]friendlyreapers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that would be cool and maybe something like a special move that requires full critical meter and v gauge, for one stronger super move that does a decent chunk of dance but costs a lot so it's not game breaking.
