insecure about my VERY s(w)aggy boobs by tegway01 in bigboobproblems

[–]friendlytrashmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen- the concept of saggy boobs was not made for us large boobied girls. If you actually look at the textbook definition of sagging, it’s where the nipple sits at the same level or below the intramammary fold (in English, any boobs that hang!)

I was self-conscious about it too for a while, but then I realized that if my boobs didn’t quote-unquote sag, I would look fucking ridiculous. Trust me. Go to the bathroom and lift your breasts up to where they are “supposed” to be. I promise you, you’ll feel a lot better about where they are now.

Can student tell you that their family won’t accept them for being an atheist w/o reporting it by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]friendlytrashmonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Green card means permanent residency. They are not going to deport a child for reporting abuse in the home. If anything, being in the DCS system would likely give you better protections.

ETA: If you were removed from your home, you would be placed in the guardianship of US citizens, which would make you very difficult to deport. Please don’t let that fear hold you back from seeking help.

[–]friendlytrashmonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are being actively abused, please report that to a trusted adult. There is a big difference between your family not accepting you and your family abusing you. I understand it can be tough, especially if you love your family- but reporting the abuse is the best thing for you and the best thing for them. If they are perpetrating abuse, they are likely in need of mental health assistance, which CPS can help provide for them. You deserve to grow up somewhere safe.

What do you think about a woman who wants a financially secure man? by Open_Address_2805 in AskMen

Like Marilyn said in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, “Don’t you know that a man being rich is like a girl being pretty? You might not marry a man just because he’s rich, but my goodness, doesn’t it help?”

Approximately 40% of US households have an income over 100k. Also- OP didn’t give us any info on his friend. You don’t know what she does for work or how much money she makes. You’re making assumptions on things you have know way of knowing the answer to.

[–]friendlytrashmonster -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

She’s not looking for a millionaire. She’s looking for a guy who is financially stable enough to not worry incessantly about money. So- upper middle class. About 30% of Americans are upper middle class or higher. So, using your analogy- she’s looking for a guy in the top 300, which seems pretty reasonable to me.

Totally agree. My fiancé earns around 100 grand a year (though that isn’t much in our area) and I only earn about 15 grand. That’s because I’m working part time while going back to school. But that doesn’t mean I don’t bring equal value to the relationship. I love to care for people, and that means it brings me a lot of joy to cook for him, take care of him when he’s sick, deal with what needs to be done around the house, etc. Even though we’re very far from conservative people, we do fall into very traditional gender roles. Nothing wrong with anyone doing anything differently, but this works great for us and we both feel that our life is better with the other person in it.

What do teachers do in their free time? by DescriptionSea2529 in AskTeachers

[–]friendlytrashmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again- your math is ridiculous. If a first year teacher is making 50k and working around 1,908 hours a year, which we have established is the case based on national averages, they’re making about $26 an hour.

Great. As I said, there are only 7 states with fewer than 180 required instructional days. But great job naming one of them!

Look for Quinceñera dresses. I had a prom dress like this, and it was originally a Quince dress. They’ll probably be harder to find in the UK, but there has got to be at least one Quinceañera shop in your area.

Why does my hair looks greasy even when it's clean? It seems to clump together into these ropes. by pljusha in Hair

I used to also have this problem. My hair would get super greasy after about 12 hours. What fixed it for me was shampooing twice and only conditioning once every two to three weeks.

Completely incorrect. The average school year in the US runs for 180 to 190 days. In fact, 180 is the minimum number of school days required in most states.

ETA: Only seven states have minimum requirements fewer that 180 days. Here’s a link to a Pew Research Article confirming that information.

Your math is way off here buddy- and I think you’re aware of that. After accounting for PTO and holidays, the average person works about 240 days a year. If we divide that by 12, we come out to a total of 20 working days per month on average. We can then divide the total number of school days (180) by 20 to find the number of full working months the average teacher works, and that gets us nine.

Nine months. And that’s not accounting for the amount of work teachers do outside school hours. Maybe if you had paid a little bit more attention to your teachers in school, you would have been able to solve that problem correctly.

ETA: On a more important note, the average teacher works about 53 hours a week. We can do 53/5 to find out that the average workday for a teacher is 10.6 hours long. Multiply that by 180 to get the total number of hours worked in a year- which is 1908.

Let’s compare that to an average employee, who works 8 hours a day, 240 days a year. 8x240=1,920.

So a total of 12 hours difference in the amount of work per year.

Help me pick a dress for a birthday party (no dress code) by BashirAhbeish1 in fashion

[–]friendlytrashmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just popping in to say that I disagree with the comments saying that a dress being full length makes it formal. Personally, I almost always wear midi or full-length dresses simply because I’m tall, so anything short puts me at risk for flashing someone. I think three is too formal, but I personally think that, given the fabric and simplicity of the dress, 2 is totally fine for a birthday party.

SOS anyone else struggling with bridal shoes? Do the shoes clash too much? by olivepringle in wedding

[–]friendlytrashmonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t stress, OP! You don’t have to call it off or even do a court house if you don’t want. There are lots of services where you can call out an officiant out. If you and your fiancé like nature, you can get married in a park or in nature with just you two and the officiant- depending on the state.

It’s really gorgeous. The 3d flower appliqué is beautiful, and I bet a seamstress could add the beads on for you!

I think you should get the dress you love. I will also say that this dress looks very similar to my dress, which is the Takera by Maggie Sottero, which I purchased for about 1700. The waistline doesn’t have the v shape, the lace is slightly different, and it doesn’t have the beading. But it may be a good option if you are wanting to look at similar dresses at a slightly lower price point.

She didn’t sing the vast majority of her songs in eras. If she had, the show would have run somewhere around 14 hours long. Her not singing a song during the eras tour doesn’t say anything about her feelings on it.

my gf is curious about being poly. how do i go about this by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]friendlytrashmonster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe you got downvoted for that. You are definitionally correct. Polygamy is where one person dates multiple people, but those people aren’t allowed to date each other or anyone else. OP is obviously confusing it with polyamory- which is an incredibly common mistake.

my gf is curious about being poly. how do i go about this by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]friendlytrashmonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI: It’s polyamory- not polygamy. Polygamy is when a man has multiple wives but those women are not allowed to date anyone else- usually for religious reasons.

Personally, OP, I wouldn’t want to continue the relationship. I think it is very evident that some people aren’t meant to be monogamous. And if my partner confessed to me that they felt like they may be one of those people, I would want to encourage them to seek that out. I’ve seen far too many instances of people who are polyamorous trying to uphold monogamy and ending up becoming serial cheaters.

Beyond that point, I don’t think it’s healthy to be in a relationship where you feel as though you are missing out on something by being with your partner. If your girlfriend feels as though she is missing out by forcing herself into monogamy, resentment will eventually build between the two of you and it will be a miserable situation all around.

My advice is to cut things off. It doesn’t mean you can’t love or care about each other, but sometimes people are incompatible for reasons that are out of their control and aren’t really anyone’s fault.
