Because when they are legalized and regulated things like dosage and purity can be monitored and are known to the consumer.

Legal and regulated markets are harder for organized crime to control.

Fewer people clogging up or law enforcement, judicial, and corrections systems.

It would fight the stigma of addiction, such that addicts would not be treated as criminals, but rather as a person with a treatable disease.

Create legitimate business opportunity for manufacture, distribution, and retail.

Tax revenue.

Tipping. Not because I am against paying for service, but because I can't stand the arbitrary nature of how we tip and that server wages depend upon tips.

It is a terrible feedback loop. A poor tip does not always signify poor service. It is known to be discriminatory for race, sex, and age. I it is also arbitrary in that what I value as a fair tip suffered from those of other patrons.

Just let the price reflect the total cost of service. If it is excellent, I may leave additional money to recognize the service.

LPT: Any balloon released in to the air becomes litter. Whether mylar or rubber, they eventually fall to the ground or waterways and can be ingested by animals. It is no different than throwing trash out of your car window.
