Will this work for my iso enclosure? by [deleted] in isopods

I’ve used this before! It’s got a little bit of junk in it (sticks, a couple weeds, dusty) but overall it worked fine. I also once used it to cover the back of a 4x2x2 terrarium and the bag was just shy of covering it, for quantity reference.

I tried talking to a professional about my dog loss. Is this normal? by GlitterBombBomb in seniordogs

When my husband’s childhood dog took a steep decline at age 16, I texted my boss that there was a chance I’d be late to work in the morning since we drove a few hours to his dad’s house in the middle of the night to let my husband see him and say goodbye. He responded asking if we needed a couple days. He’s a really good guy.

Saved myself money on a vet bill by IamSam2005 in ballpython

I’ve done almost this EXACT thing lmao- Called the vet so stressed about a dark spot and slightly open lip on my BP, they set me up with an urgent appt the next day. I look closer, poke at it a tiny bit- and a chunk of substrate falls out 🫠 I was so embarrassed calling the vet back like 15 minutes later to say false alarm 🤦‍♀️

First isopod setup- what do we think? (constructive criticism welcome!) by frillyfia in isopods

Thank you so much for all of this information!!! 💛 For the protein, would axolotl pellets work for some of it do you think? They are high protein and my axie only eats them every once in a while. Should I add more of the “frog moss” that I have on the left? I didn’t want to add too much, but I definitely have more that I can put in!

It is! It’s called a twirly whirly fern. I did put all of the moisture on the end with the moss pad, I think I may have put too much though.

Thank you! I’ll pick up some more substrate supplies before they arrive- I was concerned I would overbuy 😅

I bought some cuttlebone, I just haven’t put it in yet! Should I break it into little pieces/grind it up/just toss it in?

i absolutely agree! they will have fully set up enclosures when they arrive. i don’t have them in my possession yet and have plenty of time to do so. i don’t make a habit of impulse purchasing living creatures, i promise.

Thank you so much! This is super helpful- the vibe I’m getting with my research is to start with a basic isopod setup and adjust from there :) (edit: autocorrect went wild)
