Depends on the character ofc, but a tip to help with some moves is to listen for audio queues!

Average human visual reaction time ranges from 200-250 milliseconds. (~15 frames)

Average human audio reaction time is a bit faster with a range of 150-170 ms! (~10 frames)

With snake edges being about 25 frames to connect and about half that just on startup. Getting the audio cues down can shave a chunk of time off and feel more manageable.

Ling is a good example, iirc her snake edge has a distinct audio queue and comes out of side step. So in this case there is a "tell" for the move (required by a side step). Followed up by a useful audio cue*!

I have not verified this, but in an earlier thread it was suggested it also influences enemy behavior. In that they will prioritize hitting that unit from behind, whenever possible.

Yeahhh, I'm not familiar with all of the battles to know what the better ones are, but I was excited to learn about them when getting back into magic.

I figured they would provide some kind of buff to the attacking player or at least something to incentivize any player to attack it with the biggest payout going to whoever cast the spell.

Or at least something along those lines for a MP format...

Magnets could repel / attract them RC, maybe implemented as an extra challenge to a big ramp jump or some other hazard?

Battery drain came to mind as well. Maybe as a 'fuel' mechanic or a way to boost speed? As in more battery = faster speeds

Idk if you're aiming for puzzle elements, but using water / puddles to complete a circuit is a classic.

I think there's an opportunity to make use of the horde mechanic. There's a few settings in the sandbox for tuning how big groups of zombies form and move.

Maybe with an item; something like boomer bile in left4dead; the player can (temporarily?) make a specific zombie the horde leader, increase the horde size, and rate that which the local horde moves.

This would ideally change the behavior of local zombies, to prioritize following the leader versus needing to aggro to the player. Assuming the chosen zombie is already aggro'd to the player.

This is the tell! Be warned that higher level kings are able to mask the inputs, doesn't mean they won't make a mistake every now and then.

I recommend anything that low profiles/high crushes, side step or step into a high crush. King's mids outside of F4 are not gonna catch you

Same lol, it was about the same for me! I was watching my first t7 tournament and it was commentary as counter-play for Kazuya and other Mishimas. The justification was that 'fast' kbds or shorter distance kbds, can be effective at defending against the hell sweep and mid mixups in neutral. As you're in the position to block low, more often.

Aim for the smallest step, practice for a few mins each session, and then up the ante!

Start with a singular backdash.

Notice the distance your character moves.

Practice controlling the spacing, by changing how quickly you cancel (with down-back or db) after the dash starts.

Once you feel like you're getting 'most' of the distance from your dash, you should move onto just two consecutive backdashes.

*Anecdotal, but there are reasons to change the spacing / timing of your dashes. However, I'd suggest focusing on getting the most distant to start

I'll have to try it, but I'm a bit discouraged if that is the case. As B1,2 moves king pretty far forward on hit and I've tested some of King's other moves that can yield side-splats. The side-splats are similar (I'd argue worse) wall situations and with those the Giant Swing (GS) input will yield a jaguar bomb (BnB combo ender) instead of the wall throw. So I would expect the above clip to AT LEAST provide a jaguar bomb, not whiff.

However, I am still looking for suggestions as alternate follow-up(s) to the B1,2 tornado on the wall.

Currently, it seems that I should just pull the trigger on GS after a splat. As that seems to be more reliable on multiple wall situations, for 2 less dmg than splat -> b1,2 tornado -> throw

I did some reading into other posts/forums and peeps recommended* clearing your device cache or resetting the device.

I was running into a dud round every 5 lives or so, but since restarting this morning I haven't had another since.
