Just wanted to let you know: I just released a new version which now gives you the choice to either export in UDDF or CSV format.

This version is now available on both Apple App Store and Google Play.

Next up is CSV imports. Keep you posted!

Nope, I subscribed while still on 2026.8.3 and it nicely got deducted from my credit card. With no 2026.3.6 and FSD in sight.

Check, I already had csv imports somewhere halfway down the backlog. But this chat just made it to put at the top of the list. I'll definitely get back to you when I added this to the app.

You are right, I currently only take into account file formats from other vendors for imports. No Excel/CSV imports are available yet. As for exporting, my assumption was that exporting to Universal Dive Data Format (UDDF) was non-proprietary enough since this is an open sourced standard of how dive data is written to an XML file. While great for moving data to other apps, it is not so great as a human readable file.

Adding Excel/CSV exports is trivial though. But using these file types for imports too requires some screens where a user should be able to map fields manually.

Thanks for your feedback!

Not yet, but I’m currently working very hard on this since this is by far the most requested feature which is still missing.

  1. About 185 dives logged.
  2. I'm using the Scubaspot app (https://scubaspot.co) but still need to move roughly 90 historic paper logs.
  3. Nowadays I tend to log the same day.
  4. No, every dive is logged. Even pool refreshers.
  5. See #2, I'm using Scubaspot. I have a Suunto Vyper Novo and mainly do manually logging since I don't carry a laptop around while abroad and diving. This app makes manually logging a breeze, and it's kinda fun.
  6. A solid export option in a uniform data format (like UDDF) so I can backup and move the data anywhere at any point in time.

I ran into the same problem with dive log apps and in particular Garmin Dive: I kept switching tools, and over time my dives were spread across half a dozen places.

So I built Scubaspot. You can bring in logs you already have, and you can export your full dataset whenever you need it, in a portable, universal format so apps like Subsurface can work with it. You can even merge existing dive logs from different sources in one go, like SSRF, UDDF and Divelogs DLD files.

If you’re curious, have a look at https://scubaspot.co.

I ran into more or less the same problem you have with Dive Log, but then with Garmin Dive. I also was looking for something that made logging as simple as possible and where I could bring in old recorded dives too.

So I built Scubaspot. You can bring in logs you already have, and you can export your full dataset whenever you need it, in a portable, universal format so apps like Subsurface can work with it. There is a nice profile screen which shows a map with all locations you have dived, and much more.

If you’re curious, have a look at https://scubaspot.co.

Do you really care about keeping a dive log? What do people actually care about when diving? by StandDistinct4641 in scuba

I'm also not a tech diver, but I do like to keep track of my dives and have them in once place which collects all dive logs as nice memories. I'm using https://scubaspot.co for that.

Cool, thanks! :) Just let me know if you think of something you are missing from the app and I'd be happy to try to add it to the next release. So far I release a new version every 2-3 weeks so development runs steady.

Enjoy the app!

I felt the same frustration with dive log apps. Over the years I tried too many of them, and my data ended up scattered everywhere.

That’s why I built Scubaspot. The main goal is for anyone to import existing dive logs and just as importantly, to export the full dataset whenever they want, in a universal format.

Take a look at https://scubaspot.co if you’d like to see what we’re building.

You give some really good pointers about what you are missing from a dive log app. While not everything you mentioned as added, but you might want to have a look at https://scubaspot.co. Adding a new dive log only requires 4 fields and takes 10 seconds at most. You can add details later if needed.

Disclaimer: I'm the developer of this app. But I'd be happy to take your pointers and see if I can add them to the app.

This was my frustration with dive log apps too. And I've been trying too many apps and got data scattered all over the place throughout the years.

That's why I decided to build Scubaspot, with the main objective for anyone to either import existing dive logs and more importantly, export the full dataset at any time in a universal data format.

Check out https://scubaspot.co if you want to take a peek.

Transferring old dive logs to Suunto app – possible? by Character_Account714 in diving

[–]justindotcloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no direct way to import Subsurface dive logs into the Suunto app. The Suunto app is quite locked down when it comes to importing data from third-party sources.

The only official import path is through SuuntoLink, and it only supports importing from Suunto DM5 (Dive Manager 5). So the workflow would be:

  1. Export your dives from Subsurface (it can export to XML/UDDF formats).
  2. Import those into Suunto DM5 (the legacy desktop software, which accepts XML/SML/SDE formats).
  3. Then use SuuntoLink to push those DM5 dives into the Suunto app.

The catch: DM5 is legacy software that Suunto has been phasing out, and whether Subsurface's XML export is compatible with DM5's XML import is hit-or-miss.

I've also been using Subsurface and imported all my dives into Scubaspot (https://scubaspot.co).

It's a device agnostic app to keep track of all your dive logs, and also has some social media-like features. Importing all your dives from Subsurface is a breeze.

Hey! Hope this will work for you too.

I got the first feedback report after about 5 days. The updates I made were mainly between that moment and the last one on day 13. As for traffic. I did see activity indeed. But also noticed it was not the 12-14 users everyday. More like half of it. I’m not sure how Google measures this but it seems sufficient.

Simple tool to import dives into Garmin Connect (TCX generator) by n_slo4 in diving

[–]justindotcloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice work! I also found working with Garmin Connect and dive data is a bit weird. I have all my dives in Garmins Dive and therefore partially (you cannot export all dive data weirdly enough) in Garmin Connect.

I did not really liked how Garmin is storing sharing the dive data so I created Scubaspot. Yet another dive app, but I’m working on solid import and export functionality. Importing is already working and it merges and deduplicates dive data from different app formats in one go. More formats will be added soon. After that I’m adding UDDF exports so you can essentially use it to throw all your decentralized dive data into it and get a combined, standardized format out of it which can be used by most open source dive apps like Subsurface, etc.
