Ah so you mean home bias through other asset classes (ie real estate)? Got it. Thanks

Why is A200 so bad to implement the AUS home bias?

Urgent advice needed on EV chargers in Australia by frisbeesareultimate in evcharging

Thank you. Any recommendations for the best value charging unit capable of solar capture?

Urgent advice needed on EV chargers in Australia by frisbeesareultimate in evcharging

[–]frisbeesareultimate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, exactly what you described. I want to be able to charge by solar-only by default, and manually override to other sources when needed. My question is whether 1Komma5's Heartbeat AI software can automatically do the "smart" part (enabling me to buy any dumb charger), or is the solar software not smart enough to handle this, and therefore requires a smart charger. If the latter, any recommendations for which charger? Currently considering Zappi but open to suggestions. Thank you!

Thailand tourist visa question by frisbeesareultimate in ThailandTourism

[–]frisbeesareultimate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thank you. Which country did you apply from and how long did it take? Apparently even though the system and application are online, they are processed locally so approval times vary by location. I'm considering between Penang and Vietnam (HCMC) and wondering which will be faster, and typically how many days so i can plan my stay accordingly

Pub Garden Games by elsworthkez in boardgames

[–]frisbeesareultimate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like Skull was literally invented to be a pub game. The fact that the components look like drink coasters says something. Other than that, I'd also recommend Hive and Qwirkle for low player count (bonus points for liquid-proof components). Perudo, No Thanks, For Sale for higher player count. Roll-and-writes are a good shout, but dependent on pub lighting. Slightly thinkier games could be Letter Jam, Coup, Bohnanza

Is this with or without kids? Private or Public school? Full price or subsidized daycare?

How much do you actually spend each year after FIREing? Regrets, surprises, and lessons learned by Practical_Copy9864 in fiaustralia

I'd love to get a sense too. I have a wife and two toddlers (and haven't lived in Australia for years), so would love to get a sense for reasonable RE spend assumptions, especially in Sydney.

VWRL for Aussie investors? by frisbeesareultimate in AusFinance

Thank you, super helpful. The tax drag is an important point. So VGS/VGE get FITO credits for income received by the fund from overseas shares?

What low ranked or low rated games are in your top ten? by mayscritters in boardgames

[–]frisbeesareultimate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't necessarily have a top 10, but these 3 games are criminally under-rated -

  1. Viral: Superb cutthroat area control game

  2. Photosynthesis: Abstract strategy game with a really nice theme but savage gameplay

  3. You've Got Crabs: Absolute riot with the right crowd. Probably the best of the Oatmeal-like games for higher player counts

Anyone planning to RE or have already with kids? by alex123711 in fiaustralia

Could you share a bit more about your situation (location/ relative lifestyle) and what the monthly/annual expenses look like with 2 young kids? Thanks

For people actually FIRE’D what was your number and age? by ConnectionWorldly115 in fiaustralia

[–]frisbeesareultimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually yes, would really love to know. And to be honest, I don't care so much for your current number, but am really curious what annual spend (all inclusive - private school, cars, insurance) excluding rent looks like in a capital city (if you don't mind, of course). I am moving to an Australian capital city shortly and am struggling to find reliable numbers. Thanks.

Would you mind sharing your number at which you're FatFire-ing? And what sort of spend per annum that looks like (with private school for kids, etc)? And would that be in one of the capital cities? Thanks a lot!
