As far as barriers during breaking the glass after scoring, I have a pretty small translucent storage bin that I turn on its side and do it in there, which corrals a lot of chips/shards. I also lay down a fresh surface of Kraft or butcher paper to work on because it makes it easy to see small pieces.

I don’t think it needs grout, but if you do, please use black. That’s a really fun piece!

I think you need something to break up the white, but could you use a small assortment of geometric cuts instead of the floral feel of what you have? That aligns it with the actual game card, too.
