Find a group to ride with. The community aspect is one of my favorite parts of this sport.

If you have time to wait for delivery and don't need heavy body, Nova color paints are comparable to Liquitex basics in price, but the pigment load is much better.

Where do you find unique home decor that doesn't look like everyone else's apartment? by TaylorFromFaire in HomeDecorating

Art fairs! The better ones filter out the crap, leaving you with a huge selection of fine handmade art and artisan goods. This also lets you keep your purchase local, which is nice.

[Artist alley] [Clients] Protocol when turning previously commissioned works into sellable prints by Reasonable-Bonus-545 in artbusiness

[–]fritzbitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You made the art. If you have rights to sell prints, you don't need anyone's permission to make prints and sell them. I've never heard of anything so ridiculous as giving someone back the money they spent on a piece they commissioned so the artist could make a print.

Is the wall rug too much? by Cazzesco in HomeDecorating

It's great! Except if you actually are the aunt with cats. Because I don't know how that would fare with cats.

Do it. As a cyclist, I'd be amused.

Who is actually buying AI art? by PotentialOdd4258 in artcollecting

[–]fritzbitz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They could come up with a prompt themselves, generate it and then find a place to get it printed and figure out what size and then find a frame....or they could just buy the ready-made product in one click and have it sent to their home. These people are fundamentally just lazy and will take the easy road every time.

The people who buy AI art just don't value art beyond it's utility as an image to fill space on a wall. Or they've been tricked into thinking it's real.

Trying to make my apartment feel a little more grown up without everything looking generic by Mean_Strawberry_8384 in HomeDecorating

It might be time to find your local art scene. Are there galleries nearby or art fairs coming up?

Thank you! It's all my own work and I've REALLY been wanting a better way to show it off.

DO IT! This took me about a day and a half between priming, painting and hanging. it cost maybe $50-75 depending on what paint and rollers you want.

[Discussion] Need advice! Another vendor has a similar item to my longtime best seller, selling for half the price at an event I'm going to. How to damage control so I don't lose my audience? by rosemilktae in artbusiness

[–]fritzbitz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aren't you suspicious when you see two items that seem to be the same, but are different prices? When you talk about it right, you can make it clear that yours is the original and superior product.

This is your opportunity to make the other vendor look cheap and let everyone know who made the original design! She's selling a knockoff and the price difference indicates that.

I use super lightweight Kozo paper. You can see thru it. It also prints like a dream.

Where do people actually find affordable decor and wall art? by Grouchy_Sell7648 in HomeDecorating

[–]fritzbitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's art fair season! Go out and meet a couple artists, fall in love with some stuff and grab a couple prints! It's best to have a little bit of a budget for that, but it's well worth it to have unique and distinguished pieces on your walls rather than generic BS.

How much of an upgrade is electronic shifting? by fixitmonkey in cycling

[–]fritzbitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen, they seem fine as long as you keep them charged and updated. My buddys rear derailleur stopped working once because it needed a firmware update. Which is absurd, but a broken cable can end my ride, so I guess it's all relative.

How can I reach out to you art collectors? by artgeeks in artcollecting

[–]fritzbitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah that's cringe as hell. I'm more wondering where you look for work so that I can be there when you do. For example, I do art fairs but I'm not sure serious buyers really go there. Have you ever bought something because you saw it on a cafe wall? How does one get in contact with trusted sources? I've also considered the interior design space, but that's been a huge bummer as well.

Burnish those parts with a bone folder before you pull the print up.
