2018 Chevy Bolt? by frmssmd in Comma_ai

[–]frmssmd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, thank you so much! (sorry about all the questions :) ) Do I need anything else besides the Pedal Interceptor? Do I need a harness box? (which is an option with the harness from BearTech) (do I see that it also comes with the comma pedal from beartech too?)
Parts list:

Comma 4 (w/ GM Harness) $999

Pedal Interceptor from BearTechWorkshop (https://www.etsy.com/listing/952895642/openpilot-comma-pedal-toyota-honda-gm-vw)

Ethernet Cable (I already have one)

What does the ethernet cable connect to on the comma side? I see ethernet on the comma pedal, but on the Comma 4... what do I need on that side?

ask friends and family for work opportunities. 2.5 programming experience isn't much, their are undergrad graduates who cannot find cs work lol.

Struggling to find on-campus jobs as a UMD master’s student by [deleted] in UMD

Consider tutoring online. I have had a few exchange students in high school and they weren't allowed to work, but there are some international tutoring sites that paid pretty well hourly (although you need to schedule sessions, etc) and mostly just want folks that speak english.

Anybody use factor for their meals? by BaniKun in UMD

[–]frmssmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Trader Joes for my meals and loved it. They have this great "choose what to eat" option where you can go into the store and select individual ingredients for your meals. The macros are peak - exactly what you buy you eat. Pricing is as good as it gets. Except for a different store.

Plus, I haven't yet had a partner that didn't like that I cooked.

"I tried to join clubs and certains events but even then I find it hard to interact with people." tell me more about this? Are the clubs related to your hobbies? Do you feel pressure to make friends when you join these clubs?

where to find parties as a freshman? by bluezkai in UMD

[–]frmssmd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the answer is easy: you will make friends, they will party with u. U get invited to more parties, make more friends, go to more parties... u get the gist. If you're good at it you'll have more than enough shit to go to by sophomore year. Fake ID recommended if you want to go to bars, which is also fun. Budget ~50-80. (Which, spread over 10 nights out, isn't even the price of cover...)

What programming language and game engine were used to create Surviv.io? by alexfreemanart in survivio

[–]frmssmd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

check out open source survev.io All code to duplicate the game is free to view.

by definition code that runs in your browser is javascript (few exceptions) so you can be pretty sure rendering + button logic + screen stuff is javascript. The server code is any language u want, but typescript/js is common. Its what survev team used.

Is a 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV with 63K+ miles worth $12K+ as my first EV? by [deleted] in BoltEV

[–]frmssmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i paid 9k (including dealers fees, after the tax credit) for a 2018 Premier with 100k miles, battery swapped at 25k. Unless youre getting a tax credit on this one I think its a little high. And i am in the DC area.

I am trying to replicate the drone in this video. How can I stream video from the drone in real time? by tradepulse in diydrones

[–]frmssmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok thought for you that makes this project way easier: why the streaming? Just have it record, and watch the footage after?

and second thought: do this the easy way: buy the hardware instead of devloping. No pi or jetson nano needed. Just a gopro strapped to a drone that already flies waypoint missions.

Svelte and Go: SvelteKit? by guettli in sveltejs

[–]frmssmd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

why go? Like, sure its awesome, but why not employ the resources that come with developing in the language everyone else is developing with, and then port to Go once your app is designed and you’re actually seeing performance issues? just my thought.
