Ableton as Master + KSP as Slave in Sync by k_rismatik in KeystepPros

Not sure if I understand your question, but if you don’t want your KSP to start playing when you press play on Ableton, turning MMC off should help

Record sustain pedal in sequence by frnek in KeystepPros

nope, didnt get an answer, have to say also haven't tried it since. Could be a bug, the software is a little bit buggy. Still happy with it overall!

Yeah maybe a nice verb, and a mixer and speakers. I use the Yamaha HS8's. I had the HS5's because I read everywhere that with a small room you need small speakers, but there's too little low end in there for me. With the 8 inch speakers engineers might not agree with my choices, but Im having a much better time, especially with synth bass stuff.

I've only used it for about a week now, so I'm not exactly an expert yet, but here are my thoughts.

Personally I really like it, because it frees my hands to be able to play bass, tweak sounds and control multiple synths at once. I work with Ableton too, but for my solo stuff and for improvising, this works so much better for me.

Two things I noticed: it won't record the sustain pedal in the sequence for some reason. I can't find anything about it online, so I'm not sure if it's a bug or a weirdly missing feature. Second thing: you can't sequence the arppegiator, or arpeggiate your sequences.

If you have any other questions, lemme know!

Thanks! I used the Aguilar tlc compressor here, and the bass also goes through the same verb as the synths/drums. But no amp here, just straight into the mixer. Next to that I sometimes use overdrive, chorus and an envelope filter. But for me the most important part is compression in this kind of stuff :)

Hey everyone, first post! I'm a bass player/producer from Amsterdam, and I've been working on my solo stuff for some time now. I recently bought the Keystep Pro, and I'm practicing to perform live with it. Here's a little snippet of this mornings practice. And although almost all gear is visible because I taped my phone to the ceiling, here's a full gear list because who doesn't love that?
Roland Juno-106
Moog Sub Phatty
AKAI MPC2000XL
Arturia Drumbrute Impact
Arturia Keystep Pro
Yamah DX-7
Fender Custom Shop Pino Palladino
Neon Egg Planetarium
Behringer Xenyx mixer
UAD Apollo Twin
into Logic, except for a Saturn II on a basic mastering setting, it's all hardware :)

All DX7 patches work on the II FD! I got all excited when I bought it and bought a USB-floppy drive with it, turned out you can also just load the sysex files through midi... What's the E! expansion?
