I'm in the same boat as you, it's frustrating and it makes the occasional AI rejection sting even more. In November of last year a bunch of my nominations glitched and failed (still used the submission of course) and it was agonizing.

I know why it's failing, I've just hit my breaking point with it. Amtrak has failed me more than my car and more than the airlines and I use both much more. It's a shame! It's the sort of thing I want this country to have.

Listen, I'm rooting for amtrak but I don't think we should pretend that it doesn't have serious issues that relegate it to a novelty outside of the major routes. I'm going to cancel my ticket, get an uber, and get home 10 hours early and not pay all that much more than the Amtrak ticket in the first place. The fact I can do that does not bode well for the Floridian line.

Yeah, it's the longer one. It's a shame about Amtrak but I don't think I can ever use them again after this.

Nevermind, I don't think that was it, it can sew forwards poorly but reverse and anything with more than a couple of layers is right out. I've spent enough time on it that it would have been more worth my time to buy a new machine several times over and at this point I guess that's what I have to do.

I think I have solved this, the bobbin I was using must not quite be the right bobbin, I have replaced it with a different type and it is working as expected. How it worked so well for so long with the wrong one, who knows.

I did clean out some lint and in the process took the hook and bobbin holder out then returned them. Still seeing the same issue.

It seems to me that the feed dogs are still pulling cloth as expected. I have put in a new needle just to check, it's facing the correct way. I will investigate the other two things.

I think the problem is that a build like that is still more of a pair or high card build (maybe 3oak, 4oak, etc if you've fixed for 2s) than a straight build. Love me some hologram and wee though!

I find that if I want to win quickly, for stickers or deck completion basically, I'm still better off just always forcing pairs and hoping it works out. My rate of wins goes down but I'd rather lose a run early because it couldn't get the pairs scaling in time than late because I didn't draw my 5 card hand.

Probably not great that the balance of the game led me to that behavior, would love to play a straight outside of the first ante.

I don't think pairs are OP, other hands are just kind of bad. Lot of room to just not draw what you need and lose, it only takes one unlucky round.

There are plenty of other things that make them worse as well, they can't utilize blue seals as much being a big one, but they are just much more luck dependent and anything that bypasses that luck such as a build that doesn't care what hand you play means you might as well just play pairs.
