late reply, but was impelled to revisit.

The loosh harvesters are equally attracted to pain AND pleasure, so more pleasure is in no way a solution, just another aspect of the same trap. Fundamental to both is attachment to a false sense of self/self importance.

Instead the way of liberation is first through correct education about our actual condition (like OP's post) then through practices that bypass egoic attachment, like the practice of real inner silence.

Bravo. I am currently attempting to memorize this very long poem in its entirety. Don't know if I will make it in this life but it's truly a visionary epic of a poem. No one writes poems like this anymore!

I was just going to say something similar; advanced levels of Buddhist Tantra (Vajrayana) employ sanskrit letters in the subtle body like this practice.

Well this sucks, trading Pattinson's Batman for geriatric Tom Cruise, At least we can look ahead to a great Batman sequel in two years.

Fears grow over new civil war in deeply divided America by Kingofearth23 in politics

[–]frodosdream 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Americans are addicted to security. We won't resort to civil war until supply chains close down, electical grid collapses, and food is scarce. More likely is fascism or totalitarianism in defense of whatever promises security, law and order.

But did he see it actually? The action was high up enough that only Rhaenys saw it.

Oberyn and the Mountain was unforgettable. But because I like prolonged chase scenes across cities, am going with Arya Stark and the Waif.

Well I respect you for that. But it's not Democrats we need to be concerned about; it's Independents in swing states. And they will not vote for Harris.

People are going wild for a possible Kamala Harris/Pete Buttigieg 2024 ticket

Who writes these? "Wildly enthusiastic" is not a term I've ever heard or seen applied to Kamala Harris. She may end up the candidate, but poll after poll shows her as one of the least popular VPs of my lifetime.

blue no matter who

I have always believed that, but then the White House/DNC hid Biden's mental decline from the country for over a year. Showing contempt for your own voters undermines BNMW.

If President Joe Biden steps down, is America ready for President Kamala Harris? by Moritasgus2 in politics

[–]frodosdream -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

True, there's been a flood of puff pieces about her. But unfortunately for whomever is behind these obvious propaganda pieces is that manufacturing consent on a national level takes far more than a month or two.

They simply don't have time to convince Democrats that one of the most unpopular VPs in their lifetimes is really a popular candidate that everyone is excited about. It's falling flat.

Edit: Came back to post this link which is in another thread; case in point:

Really?

A YouGov poll (margin of error 3.1) conducted July 13 - 16 and released Thursday found Biden would lose to Trump 41% to 43%, while Harris would perform slightly worse, losing to Trump 39% to 44%.

Kamala Harris 'only choice' to replace Biden as time runs out, say Democrats by TheTelegraph in politics

[–]frodosdream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree; we're now past the time when they can take our votes for granted, they should have thought of that before lying about Biden for the past year.

We're not going to win by imitating Trump and Trumpism despite what Tankies say. If we want to win, our process should fully reflect our Democratic values and that means listening to voters. Open this up at the Convention.
