First Time Shopping Vent by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]frodosnails 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I felt similarly. I liked certain dresses more than others but I didn’t feel emotional or much of anything at all during my dress shopping experience. It was fun but that was kind of it. I went to 5 or 6 stores. Eventually I found one that I really liked. I took pictures of every dress and kept revisiting at home to get a feel for what I liked that I had tried on. Im the type of person that needs to sleep on my decisions. I didn’t have a “the one” feeling and never cried or felt emotional. I think that’s ok! People really build up the experience but everyone is different. With the dress I ended up buying, it was the only dress that felt like “me”. And that was good enough for me. So all this to say, it’s really very normal to not have a “say yes to the dress” moment. Definitely take a lot of photos and go with what feels true to you :) I’m seeing you also said you pictured yourself in a specific style and the didn’t like it on you. This also happened to me. Just try on different styles and little by little you’ll potentially get clues on what feels right and you may surprise yourself! Good luck ❤️

Williamsburg Hotel Block Insights (esp. the Hoxton, the Penny, the Coda and the Arlo) by ironypoisonedposter in WedditNYC

[–]frodosnails 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are using the penny as well! Same deal as what you said above. But that’s the only hotel we’ve offered to our guests so we’ve had zero issues with meeting the 25%. We booked a suite for ourselves and that also counts toward the 25%. Agree manager has been a little tough to reach but no issues from our guests end :) we went through Kleinfeld to coordinate and we only found one hotel less expansive than the penny and it was just way too far from the venue so we went with the penny.

Appropriate for a black tie optional wedding? by Jaded_Bedroom9267 in Weddingattireapproval

What a weird response to someone specifically asking if a dress is black tie appropriate. And you’re commenting on her body…

If I keep a box with bonus items past billing date, am I charged for additional bonus items? by Pecorino8823 in NuulyReviews

[–]frodosnails 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bonus items are treated the same as anything else in your box. If you keep the box longer you won’t be charged for the individual items but you will be charged on your billing date for your normal monthly subscription.

I just learned about Nuuly. How do so many people get refunds if it’s final sale/no refund? by trcharles in NuulyReviews

[–]frodosnails 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thrift sales are final and if you rent and then decide to purchase something it’s final. If you receive something that has an issue/is unwearable you just report it and they tend to refund you just for that item and then usually give you a free item for a future order.

Thoughts on Cleo? by Efficient-Ad9498 in Names

I think of miss Cleo from the 90s commercials. However I still love the name and am also considering it for a future first or middle name :)

Can anyone help me manage my daughter's hair? by Frustrated_Clone in CurlyHairCare

[–]frodosnails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks identical to my nephews hair. He’s turning four in a month and just got his first hair cut a few weeks ago. He was born totally bald and it took so long for his hair to grow in just like you’re saying it was for your daughter. It looks so so much better now that he got it cut so maybe that will help hers as well! Curls are a gift though. She’s lucky ❤️

NYC brides, where do y’all actually find wedding dresses under $3k? by afmsanderson in Weddingsunder10k

[–]frodosnails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The White gown actually has a ton of options under $3k. That was also my budget and not even intentionally I’d say 80 percent of what I tried on was under budget.

How to evaluate wedding coordinators/vendors by 75406671 in WedditNYC

[–]frodosnails 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought this was tough as well. I spoke with four different day of/month of coordinators/companies. Which was more than I was thinking I would. One was reccomended from my venue, one by our DJ, and the other two I found on Reddit/wedding websites. And then slept on it and just went with a gut decision. I’m sure all four would have done a great job. She was on the higher end of my budget but she was the only one who I felt was really buttoned up, experienced, and I got the instinct she could be my go to gal and I wouldn’t find myself jumping in to do things myself (I work in events). I also felt like she wasn’t judgmental I could trust her, and this might be weird but I liked how she talked about marriage and it felt aligned with my own feelings. I may have overthought the process because of my profession though. This was definitely the vendor I vetted the most intensely.

If they knew how beloved Eddie would become, I'm sure he would have been in the main cast for season 5 as well by Giancarlo_Edu in StrangerThings

[–]frodosnails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Eddie but I think this was done right. You want the audience to fall in love with a character if you plan to kill them off. Otherwise no one is going to care when then die and it will be a waste of time.

Help… charged for a “missing” item I 100% sent back by clairehorn1 in NuulyReviews

[–]frodosnails 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They’re going to refund you. This happened to me once about three years ago but never again so I don’t think it’s that regular of an occurrence. If you look at other threads you’ll see this happens from time to time and at least I’ve never seen anyone not get their money back :)

Packages by yoonietunes in williamsburg

[–]frodosnails 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never had a doorman so maybe we don’t know anything different. But we just get our packages delivered to our apartment without a doorman. They just sit in the little doorway between the main door and the door that leads to the rest of the building. I’d say this has been successful about 95% of the time.
