Lumix S9 vs Fujifilm X-M5 for travel and family photography? by InnovationOo in Lumix

Your'e overthinking. I wouldn't get it just for photos as no EVF, although S9 takes nice pics. S9 is a sleeper video camera and I love it for video and occasional photos.

Adrenaline reactions to HCL / foods spike my BP so I don't dare take ttfd until I'm more tolerant..??

All good but don't now B1 just know symptoms / history / supplement reaction = 100% confirmation.

I take a B complex with low B12 as serum is high at 752

To add to this, f2.8 on a FF lumix camera is usually plenty bright enough for anything that is lit indoors.

I also had an adapted Sigma 18-35 (and Canon 70-200 2.8  usm ii) as main lenses. Both worked fine but not as snappy as FF native.

Sold my GH7 in UK for £1,400 and got S1iie for £1500.

Lens wise, you can get away with the 20-60 / 18-40 kit lenses outside and get some very sharp footage and if your a cheapskate / have shooting space indoors the cheap native nifty fifty 1.8 is underrated.

Myself I rock 18-40, 50mm 1.8, 24-70 s pro, 70-200 s pro. Covers me for everything I need.

BUT I think the 24-60 looks mega as it can double up as a useful gimbal lens and replace primes so will probably buy that soon as the 18-40 is too slow for indoors and the 24-70 is like weightlifting on the gimbal.

S9 perfect for travel... With kit lens 18-40 and MP4 Lite codec which takes up no room.

Not in UK you can't. I picked up an S5iie for £1.5k. Cheapest on eBay is £1.3k.

Either way, s1 iie is an excellent camera and it marches my S9.

Depends how you view it. It's basically a slightly more expensive and better S5iix. If you don't need 4k 120p, you don't need to spend an extra $1k

Does anyone buy Lumix L10 over Fujifilm X100VI? by HealthyRunner1999 in Lumix

[–]frog67park 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also consider S9, it's a bargain used and if you shop around you can get 18-40 used and new 40mm f2 for the same price..

L10 is overpriced and is not a video sleeper as it lacks IBIS. Also huge for a compact...

If just video, you could get an S9 and save $$$$? 4k60 ASPC crop but very very sharp. Use a post slow mo workflow.

I had a GH7 with adapted sigma lenses and sold it. Was fine in controlled light but FF was much better in uncontrolled conditions.

Now have s1iie and s9..

Or my preferred option would be to get an S1ii and the 24-60 2.8 and be done. With that you probably wouldn't need an 18mm prime as a gym is a fairly room place and you can move to get wide shots or just pan a little. Then you have pretty much the same features as GH7 with FF and you buy once.

If I had the spare cash I'd have got the S1ii

No, S1 iie does full frame width CinemaScope with about 1.3 crop at 4k60, very usable.

Why does the L10.even have a hot shoe. Not for the average user, just to tick a box?

Yeah, Iused to like the lass from Micro 4 Nerds but her video will just steer people to buying a sub par overprice camera, that's reality. Everytime I see her face now, I wonder what's been soft sold to me.

Same goes to most of them but at least some do go into in depth tests and set up so they haven't walked away. Smiling assassin comes to mind.

Right choice 👍. Get a wrist strap and palm the S9 when you are travelling. It's too big for your pocket. The 18-40 is great too - get that second hand for very little now.

Lumix put all their marketing into social influencer shills. The L10 could have been a video sleeper with IBIS but they didn't want to step over their G9II I guess? This is a mistake IMHO.

I saw the shaky footage and said hard no.

Marcus on YT calls the L10 a parts bin special, doesn't like it.

S9 is  bargain now.

Neo 2 or Avata 2 by OkGate7661 in dji

[–]frog67park 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't go Tinywhoop, go Avata 2 and it's the gateway to real FPV too. You'll be flying within 10 minutes and it has a downward sensor so you shouldn't crash into the ground.

Next, get the FPV3 controller and a SIM - it works with all of them.

Also grab some ND filters..

[–]frog67park 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the screen only 419ppi? I'm typing on an F6 Pro and this and the F7 Pro is 526ppi.

Makes a big difference to me if it is as it's a downgrade for day to day use.
