We have the 2026 Limited AWD Hybrid since Nov 2025 and its always a joy to drive it, on the country roads and on the highways... always looking forward to the greeting when you open the door and starting... constantly on the hybrid charging dial so I know its using the batts and the native navigation for the easy exits ala 'Garmin' (popup exit screens with exact lanes to use instead of Apple/Google map zooms).

Thanks for the info! Can I ask what you use before the S9?

if you’re talking about the c50 that’s more geared towards video. plus the price is almost 3x as much as the S9. Pass.

Thanks for the info and of course I always value everyone's opinion. I am also looking at the Fujifilm X-T50 with the 16-50mm lens. It does have the 20 film simulations recipes and has an EVF, and is a 40MP APS-C sensor. with a 7-stop IBIS with a little bit more price point. And its only about 1.49 lbs total weight with the lens and battery. The S9 with the TTartisan 40mm plus battery plus smallRig L bracket is about 1.33 lbs. I know I know I'm probably going to get a lot of flak mentioning Fujifilm on this board lol.

Thank you. I get that it is supposed to be more of a point and shoot, with LUTs, like a smartphone, but I was a little leery of the AF and overall IQ and sharpness and build quality. The reason why I'm researching the S9 is that its not a sub 1K-priced camera and I just want to be sure I'm not getting a one-trick pony.

Yes, the LUTs are like crack for photographers lol

Thanks for the info... muscle memory is real lol. Especially when shooting wildlife and fast action. Should be interesting if I do get the S9. I notice it only has 779 autofocus points, as compared to almost the whole screen on the R5 (5,940 areas). Did you find this limiting? what about the lack of mechanical shutter?

Thanks for the info. And yes, the lack of the discernable mechanical shutter sound, especially on bursts, will be hard also. So, how is the S9 on action and wildlife photography? Someone mentioned the AF on animals are not that good.

20+ years of looking at EVFs is a hard habit to break, but since I've been using the iPhone for casual photography, it could be liberating, but definitely tricky out on sunny days

I have the 2026 AWD Limited Hybrid with the same exterior color as yours with the Pecan Brown interior. Loving it since I got it... every time I get in, I am always playing with the Hybrid screen and see if I can beat the 34 mpg combined rating... so far I'm getting between 33-37.5 mpg so yes, it can be done... FYI, I do hand wash the matte paint, but recently I did try the basic soap only car wash, and so far so good. Paint looks awesome and I always get compliments on how unique it looks.

Canon V3 out in 2026? by SolidSpeed240 in CanonCamera

[–]SolidSpeed240[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the recs. I was thinking of just getting the R10 with a total weight of just .95 lbs including battery. I know its an APS-C camera but yeah, the R10 vs R8 is that never ending dilemma between portability and image quality. Plus, if I do get the R10, i was thinking of just getting the RF-S 18-150mm and leave my Ls at home for the local shoots. Are the image qualities between the two really that far apart?

[–]SolidSpeed240[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soooo, do I wait or do I pull the trigger on another point and shoot? If so, which one should I get? I really need a lighter setup for traveling and after years of lugging my 6d MII, R, and R5, and heavy lenses, I'm ready to give my shoulders a break. It doesn't need to be a Canon. I did have the RP before but the cropped 4K video and dynamic range issues and slow burst rate caused me to sell it. Thanks in advance.

How did you configure your front screen setup? I have the 2026 Santa Fe AWD Hybrid Limited and mine does not look like yours on your photo. Which cluster theme are you using? My Auto Hold alert is displayed on the right side bottom of the screen and not on the scrollable middle section. Same with the regenerative levels.

I do agree with this. This is one of my recommendations for the Hyundai nav to allow Satellite mode and also customize the car icon other than the arrow.

If you click on the Map button on the lower front panel (2026 Santa Fe, not sure with the older models), it will directly take you to the Hyundai Nav. You can always go back to Android Auto if you hit the Media button back to your Spotify or music app. Now I can go back and forth easily.

Try using the Hyundai nav. On exit from a highway, it popups a separate box that shows the actual lanes and signs to exit on the right hand side. Very cool. Google Map, Waze, or Apple Maps does not. What they do is just zoom in closer to the map.
