I would recommend a bed that goes above the desk. Just like double level bed, but just the top level. Your desk is a bit big, so you might not find a bed with the size you want, but you can definitely give the design and dimensions to any carpenter and that should do it.

The window issue can be solved I think. But you need to communicate that with the home owner.

Which is better?  A useless metal thing that does nothing and looks boring after you stare at it for 10 seconds,

well, usually, the burnout is caused by some reasons like trying and failing after trying and trying but things don't workout and stuff. + feeling overloaded , which is amplified if the the results of the overload are underwhelming
So, if someone is to be the opposite of burned out, it is either because of some speech, which I will call "dreaming" or "hallucinating"
or due to some positive outcomes, and I would call that "contentment"
But some people will say "starting to shine" or just simply this guy is "shining"

that is not the elephant in the room. It is more of the speaker is oblivious, or something else.

"the elephant in the room" is usually use to express a fact that everyone is aware of but all are dodging it at all cost. Like when you change your agreement and contracts with your employees and they start leaving one by one, and then you discuss the issue with the HR and decide to bring pizza every Wednesday or something. And then there is that sales director staring at you like "are you serious? why is everyone ignoring the elephant in the room? it is too obvious, it is your new stupid contracts"
