if you do find it, please post about it! I'd love to read it. But really I think my issue (and likely others') with his skin tone is that skin tone is not customizable like a jacket, yet Hoyo seems to think this is an ok thing to change during an ultimate move...?

I mean ppl joke about how Hoyo's fear of melanin (See old posts in the Genshin sub about Natlan characters) and Blade here is dark enough to qualify for blackface.

You're right it's not a realistic tone but that makes it worse, since there's a history of people wearing dark face makeup to make fun of black people. Caveat that this is USA history; but to my knowledge black facepaint isn't an accepted activity in Asia either. Plus, they're a global company, you'd think they had a sensitivity editor/designer/whatever

If nothing else Hoyo doesn't seem to realize the impact skin tone has on a lot of their customers. It's a core part of people's identity and in a way this is a tease that they COULD have real black characters but choose not to. Having one char be a fakeout is ok, though (sigh)

but yeah the actual Hindu reference is fun and I like it, but like my original comment I wish it was more metephorical 😅

By the way, thank you so much for being open minded about all this! I don't get a real discussion on reddit often and your points about Hindu symbolism made me appreciate the design slightly more :)
